Dear Entrant,
I would first like to thank you very much for submitting a story to this year's Magazine Le Fantastic Short Story Prize. Please be assured that between us and our team of readers, we read each and every entry, and appreciate all the time and effort that goes into making a submission.
We received a record 10,534 entries this year, so the judging process was even more challenging than usual. We regret that your story didn't make the shortlist this year
The twenty-five shortlisted stories will be hosted on the magazine's website from 23rd January (Saint Lucia Laureates Day), the regional winners will be announced on 1st March (the island's Flag Day), and the overall winner on 1st August (Emancipation Day) followed by an online award ceremony on 28th October (Jounen Kwéyòl). We'll send through details nearer the time, and very much hope you will be able to join us.
We're celebrating twenty years of the Short Story Prize this year, and it's a flagship project of Magazine Le Fantastic, attracting entries from almost every single country around the world, illustrating the global reach of the magazine. The success of the prize is down to the many writers who enter each year, and we appreciate the many thought-provoking and wide-ranging entries we receive.
