Capital Letters

Capital letters are very easy to master, once you get the hang of them. Whenever you use a name you use a capital letter. Example:

Even though we lived in separate countries, Sophia and I still spoke often.

This rule also applies to 'Mom' & 'Dad,' though only when you are using the title in place of their name. Example:

"Hey, Mom?"

"Yes, Alexandria?"

The girl looked at her mom. "Mom, we're all out of mayonnaise."

Her mom laughed pleasantly. "Okay, sweetie. I'll pick some up on the way home from work."

ALWAYS CAPITALIZE "I"!! I cannot stress this enough! Your story will not look well written if "I" is not capitalized, no matter where it is in the sentence (unless it is intentionally left lowercase for aesthetic purposes)! Example:

I made a sand castle out of odds and ends I found along the beach's shore, including a few things I found in the water.

Does that make sense? I feel like it doesn't... Anyways! Okay, always capitalize names of places too! Like the name of a country, restaurant, grocery store, country club, etc. You don't have to capitalize the words restaurant, country, grocery store, etc., just their names. Also languages, cultures, & religions! Example:

My most favorite place to go in the entire world is a Chinese restaurant in South America called the Rainforest Café, and my favorite dish is their signature salad, the Almond Caesar.

Okay, that's all I got! If you guys have any thoughts or suggestions on what I missed, please tell me and I'll have it up before you can blink!! Ookay, maybe not that quick, ;) but you know what I mean.
