Hana was sitting on her bed running what just happened over and over again in her mind.
'I-I think I'm in love with you Lee Hana.' Luhan's words were stuck in her head. Never had she thought Luhan would develop these kinds of feelings for her.
"Aii! Lee Hana get a hold of yourself!" Hana threw herself making her head come into contact with her pillow. Pulling the covers over her head she tried to fall asleep. Luhan was staring at himself in the mirror after a hot, steamy shower. With his hands on the sink counter top he was staring at his reflection remembering back to how he confessed to Hana.
"I must be crazy." He chuckled as he walked to his closet. Honestly, the Luhan he really was would have never been able to build up the courage to confess so suddenly to a woman, especially to someone like Hana. After getting dressed he went into the kitchen to grab a glass of water. He placed his phone on the countertop as he walked to the fridge. Pouring water into a glass he couldn't help but think about how Hana reacted to his kiss. Taking a sip out of the glass he placed it back down.
'She kissed me back.' He thought to himself. By the time he realized he was on his phone sending a text message to Hana.
To: Lee Hana
Are you asleep?
Hana was rolling around in her bed when she received a message. Her eyes shot open seeing the id photo of Luhan towering over her giving her a kiss on the forehead while she was asleep.
"My Prince Charming?" she read the caller id out loud.
From: My Prince Charming
Are you asleep?
As she was about to replied back she stopped herself.
"There's no reason to reply Hana. Psh who does he think he is putting his number in my phone?" She went into her contacts to delete his number but ended up just changing his Id to Jerk Face. Luhan was lying in bed staring at his phone waiting for a reply.
"What the hell!? She kissed me back but she won't reply to my messages?" Luhan shot up from his bed frustrated. Hana was trying to sleep but from time to time she'll look over to her phone. Picking the phone up she looked to see what time it was. It was already 2 am and she was still up.
"Aii!" she tossed around in her bed.
"She's probably asleep right? That's why she's not replying." Luhan told himself as he tucked himself back into bed.
Hana let out a loud groan from under her blanket when her alarm went off. She pulled her covers off only to be face to face with the oh so familiar Luhan who was leaning over her.
"Morning." He greeted her with a smile. Her eyes shot open as she felt her heart beat began to go wild. Pulling the covers back over her head she tried to hide her flustered face.
'Wait this is my bed. What the hell is he doing here? How did he get in?' Hana questioned herself. The flustered Hana faded away and now a confused Hana kicked in. pulling her covers off she glared at Luhan who was strolling around her room.
"What are you doing here? Who let you in? Where's my mom? Did you do something to her?" Hana shot him questions without letting him answer.
"Omma?" Hana called out for her mother as she got out of her bed and rushed into the living room with Luhan following behind.
"You're awake." Her mother replied while in the kitchen cooking.
"Oh Luhan! Come sit breakfast is almost ready." Her mother averted her attention to Luhan.
"Ne." Luhan sat himself at the table.
"You should probably go wash up." He smiled at her before picking up his utensils. Hana looked at her mother with a questioning face and received nothing but the back of her mother's head in reply.
Hana went to wash up and when she came back she heard laughter coming from the dining room. Laughter, that's right. Hana decided to hide and eavesdrop on what they were talking about.
"I'm sorry I mistook you to be the same as your father, no offense. Please take care of my daughter, she may seem cold but she's actually very warm and loving on the inside. It's just that she's been through so much that's why she's like that." The mother told Luhan.
"Don't worry. She means more to me than you think." Luhan replied. Hearing those words sent Hana's heart into a melted puddle of goo.
'Snap out of it!' Hana scolded herself when she realized what was happening to her. Taking in a deep breath she walked to the table and sat down in her seat across from Luhan. After breakfast Hana got ready and left for work with Luhan following behind her as they walked down the staircase.
'How does she do it in those heels?' Luhan asked himself seeing Hana strolling down 4 flights of stairs like it was normal. Well it was, for Hana at least.
"My people will be here later to pick up your things so just come to our home tonight." Luhan casually informed Hana as they walked out of the building.
"Your people." Hana scoffed without sparing him eye contact.
"We're married now, we should be living under the same roof like normal husbands and wives do." He walked up close to her.
"Well if you haven't noticed OUR situation is more than out of the norm alright. And there's no way I'm letting my mom live alone." Hana retorted as she continued walking towards the bus stop.
"You know you're quite mouthy. I like it." He commented. See her bus already at the stop she rushed towards the bus leaving Luhan behind.
"Yah!" Luhan chased after her. Just in time Hana scanned her card and got onto the bus. Luhan tried to get to the seats only to get stopped by the driver.
"You have to pay young man." The driver pointed to the money box. Luhan fished his wallet out and slipped in the fee. He sat himself next to Hana whose was pretending to not know him.
"So, what would you like for dinner? I'll be home early today." Luhan asked lifting one of his arms and putting it over her shoulders. Hana picked his cuffs and withdrew his arms off her. She continued to stare out of the window silently.
"Spaghetti? Alright, Kyungsoo has this really good recipe. I'll ask him for it and make it for us tonight." Luhan had the conversation with himself seeing that Hana was back to ignoring him. They got off at Hana's stop.
"I'll see you later!" Luhan shouted as Hana was walking away from him.
Hana arrived at the shop she worked at and began her day with cleaning the bathrooms as usual. It was almost closing time when Hana was reorganizing the stock room.
"Hey, can you come and grab some tea for the clients while I pull up the dress? Please?" one of her coworkers popped into the storage room.
"Sure, no problem." Hana hung the dress in her hands on the rack and made her way into the kitchen. Carrying a platter with very hot tea and some warm cups she walked to the floor the clients were in.
"What's a gold digging like you doing here?" a voice said capturing Hana's attention and shocking everyone on the floor. Hana looked towards the direction of the voice and saw Jenny sitting on the couch.
"Of course this would be the ideal place to yourself around considering all the wealthy men and their soon to be wives would come." Jenny continued. The manager rushed over to apologize for whatever it was that Hana did wrong.
"I'm sorry if my employee has done anything to upset you. Let me apologize on her behalf." The manager pleaded.
"No please, it's not your fault that this woman is ruining other people's lives. It's probably because of that pretty face that gives her the confidence to do so. Let me help you with that." Jenny picked up the tea kettle and splashed the hot water onto Hana. Luckily Hana's reflexes blocked the hot water from hitting her face, unfortunately her right arm, neck and part of her shoulder was drenched in scalding hot water. Before anyone could react to what just happened a hand pulled Hana and dragged her out of the place. When they reached outside Hana didn't get the chance to see who was holding her when her body collapsed out of shock.
When Hana woke up she was in the hospital. She looked down and saw someone lying down on her bed side holding her hand. Tears began wailing in her eyes as she knew exactly who it was. The figure began to budge around and lifted his head up.
"O-oppa."
"Hana! How are you feeling? Should I get the doctor?" the man asked.
"Oppa!" she cried wrapping her arms around him. The man gently hugged her back making sure he wasn't hurting her.
"Ssh, Oppa is here. I'm not going to let anyone hurt you." He comforted her. After having the doctor check up on Hana she was given the okay to be discharged. Sitting in the car Hana held the man's hand as he drove her home. It was already past 11 and Hana had yet to eat dinner so they stopped by a ramen restaurant.
"I already went back and grabbed all of your things from the bridal shops. I don't want you working there anymore." The man told Hana.
"Thanks. I doubt I'd be able to work there any longer anyways." She told him while wiping down the utensils with a napkin.
"Are you here to stay? Did Minho come too?" Hana asked.
"Mmm, I finally convinced them to station us here." The man told her while grabbing the utensils and napkins from her and wiping them himself.
"Do you have a place to stay yet? If not we have a room for you." Hana told him.
"Here you go." The waiter came by and placed their bowls of ramen in front of them.
"Thank you." The two thanked the waiter. Hana grabbed her chopsticks and began picking out the egg white from her bowl and passed it to his plate as he did so with the egg yolk in his bowl and passed it to her. They began eating and conversing with one another.
Luhan was sitting in front of the bridal shop waiting for Hana to get out. It was already 11:30 and the last employee walked out of the shop and locked it. Luhan got out of his car and walked to the employee.
"Do you know where Hana-sshi is?" he asked.
"Hana? She was dragged out by some guy earlier after an altercation with one of the clients." The employee told him.
"Do you know who the guy is?" He asked worried.
"Not sure, but he did come back for her things and said he was her brother." Luhan thanked the employee and got back inside his car. He called Hana numerous times but she wasn't answering. He was truly worried about her so he decided to stop by her house. He parked his car and walked toward the building when he saw Hana in the arms of a guy.
"Thank you for coming back safe and sound." Hana stared up at the man with her arms still wrapped around him.
"Everything is going to be okay now. I'll make sure of it." The man kissed her on the forehead. Luhan could see the smile on Hana's face as she received the kiss. His heart dropped at the sight.
"Why don't you go inside its late and mother must be worried. I'll see you tomorrow?" the man told her.
"You're not gonna come and say hi?"
"It's late, I'll come tomorrow morning." He assured her.
"Okay." Hana gave her goodbyes and went inside the building.
"Brother? What a joke." Luhan scoffed as anger began building up within him. He watched the man get inside is car and drive off. Getting his phone, Luhan called Hana again.
Hana threw her coat on the coat hanger and placed her medication on the vanity table. She finally check her phone which had over 20 phone calls and messages all from Luhan. Just as she was going to reply to back Luhan called her. Ignoring the call she opened up the message thread and sent him a message.
TO: Jerk Face
I'm fine. I just got home. I'm tired I'm gonna go to sleep.
Hana sent the message and turned her phone off. He was probably angry and she was too tired to deal with him. Luhan opened the message and read it.
"Too tired?" Luhan was getting really angry at the message he was sent. Thirty minutes later he was at home drunk and on the phone with Xiumin.
"I've never seen her so happy. Why can't she be happy with me? I even told her I loved her!" He yelled into the phone.
"Brother!? A brother does not get all touchy feely with their sister like that!" he continued.
"Is that it?" Xiumin asked uninterested.
"What do you mean 'Is that it?' She's my wife! She's not supposed to be around like that!" Luhan replied. The phone call came to a halt as Xiumin hung up. 5 minutes later Xiumin cam busting through the front door and walked to Luhan who was sitting on the couch drunk as ever. He picked Luhan up by the collar and with one quick swing his fist met with Luhan's face.
"Don't you dare speak of her like that! If you're jealous then just say it. Don't go assuming things! She's a good person. She's the best thing that has ever happened to you and you're pushing her away by doing this. Why can't she be happy around you? Have you ever tried approaching her without implying the contract as an excuse?" Xiumin exploded in anger at Luhan's accusations of Hana.
"I'm going to say this once only and it's because we're practically brothers. Don't you ever treat Hana like any of your past girlfriends. It may not seem like it but she's becoming a very big part of EXO's life. Don't make me or the other guys have to take her away from you because we will." Xiumin threw him onto the couch.
"Go sleep, you're drunk." Xiumin told him before leaving the apartment. Luhan could taste his own blood. Wiping the corner of his mouth he laid his head back and closed his eyes. He slowly feel asleep as he kept thinking about what Xiumin told him. Luhan woke up to his phone ringing like crazy. It was Hana. Clearing his throat he answered the call.
"Hello?"
"Luhan? Can you open the door for me?" Hana asked hesitantly.
"The door?" He asked confused.
"Your people kinda took everything including my work clothes." She replied. Luhan was finally able to understand and went to his door and opened it. Hana was dressed in the clothes she was wearing from the night before. He could see she was frozen from head to toe. There were flakes of snow in her hair and her nose was red.
'She must have been cold.' He thought to himself worried. Letting Hana in he quickly grabbed the blanket on the couch and wrapped it around her.
"Y-you should have called, I would I brought them over." He told her as he was going to pull her hair back he was stopped.
"My clothes?" Hana prevented Luhan from seeing her burns. Luhan led her to the closet across from his.
"The maid came a set everything up. I didn't really know how you liked to organize your clothes. I hope you find what you're looking for. I also added some more things since it's getting cold out." He told her.
"Thanks." Hana walked into the closet hand took and overview of the closet. After picking out her clothes Hana walked out of the closet.
"You're not getting changed?" Luhan asked.
"Bathroom." Hana replied and Luhan nodded before moving aside so she could go to the bathroom. Inside the bathroom Hana was having difficulty putting her clothes on and trying to hold her groans in. Luckily she picked out a button up flannel shirt, and a zip up sweater. After getting dressed she walked out of the room and exited the bedroom with a coat and scarf. Luhan was rushing around in the kitchen trying to make breakfast.
"Are you hungry? I can make something." Luhan asked.
"No it's fine I have to go." Hana replied before attempting to leave. Luhan rushed to Hana and grabbed her arm. Hana winced in pain and stopped in her track.
"Where were you last night?" He asked with a cold voice.
"I was working." Hana lied.
"Where were you last night?" Luhan walked forward and pinned Hana up against a wall.
"I was a work." She lied again. Turning her head to avoid Luhan's death glare her burns were visible. Luhan could see red burns along Hana's neck when she turned her head away from him. With his free hand he pulled her hair away from her neck. Curious he slowly unzipped the sweater and unbuttoned her shirt. Pulling the clothes down she was covered by a tank top but he could see that the burn was all over her right shoulder, neck and arm.
"What happened?" He asked. Hana avoided his eyes.
"There was an accident at work yesterday and I spilled hot water on myself." Hana lied. What the employee had told him the night before came to mind.
"You're lying. Tell me the truth before I go and find out myself. You know it won't be pretty when I find out on my own." Luhan told her sternly. The front door beeped and opened causing their attention to direct itself to the door.
"Luhan?" Jenny walked in with a bag of food. Hana turned around, grabbed her clothes and pulled them back up with her back facing Jenny. Seeing Hana's face he knew Jenny had something to do with the burns. Buttoning up her shirt she left to the bedroom not wanting to be in the same room as Jenny.
"What did you do to her?" Luhan growled at Jenny.
"What? Did she come crying to you? It's just water she'll be fine. She's lucky it wasn't her face." Jenny replied emotionlessly.
"Get the hell out of here. I don't ever want to see you ever again." Luhan pointed to the door. Jenny scoffed and made her way out the door. After closing the door he rushed to the bedroom to check on Hana. Hana was sitting on the bed when Luhan walked in.
"Are you okay? Should we go to the hospital?" He was truly worried.
"I'm fine. I'll go now. I have errands to run." Hana told him. Luhan gently caressed Hana into his arms and placed her head on his chest.
"It's all my fault. I'm so sorry." He apologized. Hana could feel herself melting in Luhan's arms. For some reason she felt a different kind of feeling being safe and cared for.
"I'm okay so don't worry." Hana soften. To be honest a reason to why she was hiding the fact that Jenny poured hot water on her was because she knew Luhan would blame himself. That wasn't something she preferred he didn't do. It wasn't his fault the woman couldn't control her anger.
"Where are you going? I'll take you." Luhan offered.
"No, it's fine. You have work to go to anyways." Hana pulled away and stood up.
"No, not at all. I'm off today. I'll grab my coat. Wait for me okay?" Luhan rushed to his closet without giving Hana anytime to reject him.
30 minutes later the two were strolling around in a sports store. Hana was looking at running shoes with Luhan trailing behind her.
"Do you have this in all black?" Hana asked the employee helping her.
"Yes we do." The employee replied.
"Can I get the bigger size in all black and the smaller size in black and white please?" Hana asked the employee. While the employee went to the back to grab the shoes Hana requested, Hana continued to walk around the area.
'Why is she buying guy shoes? Who are they for? I can't be for me. Is it for that guy last night? But why two? There's more than one?' questions where running through his mind as he was trying to figure out who Hana was buying these things for. Luhan was still in his thoughts when he ran into something. Hana was holding up a red poufy jacket up against him. She then turned back to the rack and searched through the jackets. Luhan let his eyes gaze around to see if he needed anything since he was already there. They were standing at the register paying for the items.
"Can you wrap them up nicely for me please?" Hana handed her card to the teller.
"Thank you." Hana grabbed the neatly bagged items and walked out of the store. When they got to the car Luhan was feeling a bit upset that Hana had completely ignored him throughout the whole day. Hana asked for them to stop by a restaurant where she got some togo food.
"You can drop me off here." Hana told Luhan when they were near a bus stop.
"I'll drop you off wherever you need no questions asked." Luhan kept driving. Not wanting to protest Hana agreed.
"Gangnam Police Station please." Hana told Luhan. As much as he wanted know why she wanted to go to the police station he promised not to question her as long as she allowed him to drive her. Pulling up to the station Hana got out of the car with the things she bought.
"You can go now. I'll go home by myself later." Hana told him.
"Oh! Lee Hana!" a man's voice shouted from behind.
"Hello Oppa." Hana greeted the man with a smile.
"You can go now." Hana bowed to Luhan and closed the door. As he was driving off he could see Hana talking with a man cheerfully. She handed him the bags in her hands and the two walked into the police station together. When he arrived at the parking lot he received a message from Hana.
From Lee Hana
There's some things in the back for you. Thank you for keeping me company today.
Luhan looked at the back and saw two bags. Grabbing them he opened them and saw one had some packaged food and the other was wrapped inside a box. He made his way up to his apartment and placed the bag of food on the table. Sitting on the couch he opened up the box. Inside was the red jacket Hana was holding up to him earlier. A note was resting on top of the coat.
'It's getting cold out. Keep yourself warm.' The note was simple and short. A smile appeared on Luhan's face as he picked up the jacket. It's almost as though he had forgotten all the anger and jealousy that had built up inside. Slipping the jacket on, he took a selfie with the food she got him and sent it to Hana.
To Lee Hana
Thank you.
Hana was talking with James and Minho when she received a message form Luhan.
"Boyfriend?" Minho teased catching a glance of the message.
"Boyfriend?" James lifted an eyebrow.
"No, just a friend." Hana lied.
"Friend huh? Let me see." James leaned across the table. Hana hesitated but then gave up because she knew he'd find out one way or another.
"Han?" James grabbed Hana's phone.
"Han? That's Lu Han?" Minho asked shocked.
"Hana what are you doing with this guy?" James asked seriously.
"I-I told you already. He's just a friend." She lied.Edited: Polarstars
