A week had gone by and nothing was getting better. Luhan was leaving earlier and coming home later. Some days not even coming home at all. They barely talked and when they did it would blow into a full argument over the smallest things. Hana was waiting up for Luhan. She decided it was time to talk. When Luhan came home it was already 2 in the morning.
"You're still awake? Is your back hurting again?" He asked taking. His shoes off.
"We need to talk." Hana told him.
"About what?" Luhan plopped himself on the couch next to her.
"We need some time apart." Hana said making Luhan fear what was coming up.
"No we don't."
"I received an offer from a company aboard. They want to meet with me for planning so I'll be leaving tomorrow morning."
"And if I say you can't go?"
"You already know the answer."
"You can't be traveling while pregnant. It's not good for the baby." Luhan reasoned.
"Well nothing here is good for the baby either. I'm tired of arguing. I'm tired of constantly hoping you'd come home for dinner. I'm just tired of everything about this relationship."
"What does that mean for us then?" Luhan asked hurt.
"Let's use this time to get ourselves prepared for whatever it is that will happen later." Hana was torn having to say what she was saying but she had to. The more she waited for him the more she felt herself being emptied out.
"Consider this the last effort to trying to fix this thing between us." Hana got up and left to bed. Luhan sat there processing everything Hana said.
"Luhan it's 2 in the morning." Xiumin groaned letting Luhan in.
"Looks like she's giving you time to choose." Xiumin told Luhan after he explained what happened.
"Choose what? The mother of my daughter and my daughter and her?"
"Let's not for forget Hana is the mother of your son and your legally wedded wife." Xiumin added.
"And let's not forget you forced Hana into this relationship."
"How am I supposed to choose?" Luhan asked.
"I'll be honest with you. If Jang mi is really your daughter then she can't just live without you. But Subin on the other hand. I don't like her. Like at all. She's done so much to manipulate you for your wealth and you still can't see it. As for Hana. If you really can't let Subin go then let Hana go. She deserves better than this."
"What if I can let Subin go? Hana won't accept Jang mi."
"You really think of Hana as that shallow of a person?"
"No..."
"Recognize that this may be the last time you'll be able to fix the problems between you and Hana. I won't hold her back anymore and I think everyone else would agree with me too." The two talked into the night and Luhan fell asleep on Xiumin's couch. When he woke up it was 9 am.
"Hana..." He rushed out wanting to see her for one more time before she left.
"I'll bring you bag down first." Jenny saw Luhan walking into the apartment.
"I'll be right down." Hana placed her vitamins in her bag.
"Hana."
"I hope you're not trying to stop me. It's too late." She threw her coat on.
"B-be careful. Don't skip out on meals and stay hydrated. Don't go to bed late and make sure you place a pillow on your back. It'll help with the back pains." Hana was putting her shoes on.
"I can take care of myself." Luhan walked up to her and gave her a back hug.
"And please come back." Luhan pleaded. Hana held back her tears.
"Take care of yourself." She unwrapped his arms from her and walked out. When the door closed Luhan allowed himself to break down. His chest began to tighten and breathing became harder to do. When Hana got into the car she immediately let herself go. Jenny who was driving just let the woman cry herself out.
"Be strong." Jenny hugged Hana as they were waiting at the gates.
"I'll keep an eye out on the guy. You go and you succeed alright?" Hana nodded.
"Peanut. Take care of Omma okay." Hana's boarding flight was called.
"Take care. If you need anything just call. I'll have my people come for you immediately okay?"
"Mmm. Thank you. And please take care of my brother." Hana asked.
"Don't worry. I'll definitely take care of him." Jenny winked making Hana laugh.
"Go." Jenny watched Hana board the plane.
Two weeks went by and a lot had happened. Subin had left without saying a word to Luhan leaving Jang mi in his care. It turned out she managed to pull out the trust funds Luhan set up for Jang mi and disappeared. Paternity test results came back positive that Luhan and Jang mi shared the same blood. James and Jenny hit it off after multiple episodes of annoyance by Jenny. Xiumin hit it off with a blind date his mother set him up with. Hana was now a business partners with Secret Corporations, a company well known for their branches of shopping malls in Europe and Asia.
"Noona! Peanut!" Tao shouted seeing Hana walk out of the terminal.
"What is this?" Hana laughed seeing the guys, a unfamiliar woman, her brother and Jenny wear shirts that spelled out 'Welcome home!!!' Tao, Kai and Sehun proudly sporting the exclamation marks.
"You must be Haemin." Hana greeted Xiumin's girlfriend.
"Nice to meet you." Haemin greeted back. Hana's eyes couldn't help but search for Luhan.
"He's not here." Jenny noticed Hana looking around.
"He's probably still asleep. That little girl is quite the handful." Suho said.
"Little girl?" Hana asked confued.
"Let's go eat!" Kris suggested, changing the subject.
"I'm sorry guy but I'm gonna have to call in a rain check. I'm a bit jet lagged." Hana declined.
"You just want to go see Luhan hyung." Chanyeol whined.
"She took the red eye. That throws you into utter ty mode." Kris defended Hana.
"Let's go for dinner? I'm feeling like Hanwoo?" Hana lifted an eye brow.
"Promise?" Kris became serious at the sound of Hanwoo.
"Promise!" Hana held her pinky out.
"Dinner it is!" Kris announced. Hana got a ride with Xiumin and Haemin.
"You'll be okay right?" Xiumin asked handing Hana her luggage when they got to the apartment.
"I'll be fine." Hana assured.
"She's pretty." Hana whispered and held her hand out for a low five.
"I know." Xiumin winked.
"All right you two go enjoy your day. I'll see you at dinner." Hana told the two.
"It was nice meeting you Haemin-sshi." Hana bowed.
"You too." Haemin bowed back. When Hana opened the door she notice pink clothing particles all over the place. Princess shoes hang out around the shoe rack floor. She took her shoe off and carefully walked in trying to avoid stepping on the Barbie dolls lying around. The house was a complete mess. Clothing and toys everywhere. There was an area in the corner with an empty bookshelf while the books laid on the floor. The dining table had stacks of Legos spread out everywhere. She followed the trail of clothes into the bedroom. There she saw what melted her heart away. Luhan was asleep in bed with a little ball rolled up next to him. As she moved closer she realized it was the little girl wearing a full body pajama suit that had cute cat ears sticking out from the top. There also was toys all over the bed. A book rested itself on Luhan's stomach. She rolled her luggage into her closet and changed into comfortable clothing. Quietly she began picking up the mess around the bed. She worked her way out into the living room.
"Rose Jang mi Lu." Hana read the name on the toy trunk. Grabbing a pack of germ killing wipes from the cleaning supply cabinet, she wiped down all the toys before placing them back into the trunk. When she finished cleaning she opened the fridge and noticed it was almost completely emptied. The front door beep and in came Luhan's assistant baring groceries.
"Mrs. Lu." The assistant greeted surprised to see her back.
"Hi." Hana greeted back.
"Mr. Lu ordered me to get some groceries. Where should I put them?" The assistant asked even though he knew they were to be placed in the fridge.
"You can just place them on the counter. I'll put them away." Hana directed.
"I'll go now." The assistant left after putting the groceries on the countertop. Hana was almost done cooking when she saw little cat ears bobbing its way towards the kitchen.
"Hi." Hana greeted the little girl who was hugging into a pororo doll.
"Hi. You must be my new mommy." Jang mi asked with a smile throwing Hana off.
"Umm...Unnie." Hana corrected the girl.
"Appa said you are my Omma." The girl insisted.
"Are you hungry?" Hana changed the subject. The girl nodded.
"How about we get you washed up first hmm?" Hana smiled.
"Okay." The girl's innocent smile warmed Hana's heart. After washing up, Jang mi insisted she help Hana set up the table.
Luhan was half asleep when he felt around the bed for Jang mi. He shot up from the bed when he couldn't feel her. Fearing she may have fallen off the bed he got up and searched around the bed.
"Can you put these on the table please?" Luhan heard Hana's voice coming from outside the bed room. He noticed the mess was no longer there as he walked out of the room.
"Like this?" Jang mi asked staring into the kitchen. Hana walked into sight carrying bowls with steam coming from the top.
"Perfect. You're such a good helper." Hana rewarded the girl with compliments. Luhan smiled from ear to ear at the sight.
"Appa!" Jang mi saw her father standing at the bedroom door and ran to him.
"Did you sleep well?" Jang mi asked as her father carried her in his arms.
"Most definitely. And you?" He asked as he carried her to the dining table.
"Mmm." The girl nodded.
"Look! Omma made bean paste soup." Jang mi pointed to the bowls on the table.
"You're home." Luhan asked seeing Hana scooping rice from the rice cooker.
"Should I leave?" Hana asked.
"No! Omma can't leave." Jang mi covered her father's mouth in case he said 'yes'.
"It's okay. Appa won't let Omma go either." Luhan removed Jang mi's little Han from his mouth.
"Go wash up." Hana placed the rice on the table. Luhan placed Jang mi in her chair.
"I missed you so much!" Luhan grabbed Hana and hugged her tightly in front of Jang mi. Hana had no choice but to hug him back in front of the little girl.
"Awh. Me too. Now go wash up." Hana pried Luhan off her. They were all sitting at the table eating lunch. Well breakfast to Luhan and Jang mi.
"Mmm. So yummy." Jang mi giggled as she ate a spoonful of rice.
"Eat a lot so you can grow up to be strong okay?" Hana picked up a piece of tofu and held it up for the girl.
"Yes!" The girl exploded with cuteness.
"Appa, Peanut played with me today." Jang mi said enthusiastically.
"Really?" Luhan made a shocked face.
"Mmm. Omma said he's very excited to meet me." Luhan glanced over to Hana who was eating and smiled.
"Here." Hana scooped a spoon full of soup and blew on it before giving it to Jang mi. Hana could feel the looks Luhan was giving her as she fed Jang mi. They finished lunch and Jang mi was sitting on the countertop keeping Hana company while she washed the dishes.
"Yeh. I'll be there in 20." Luhan was on his phone.
"Jang mi. Come get dressed. We have to go." Luhan told the little one.
"But I don't want to. I want to be with Omma." The girl pouted.
"Don't you want to go to the zoo with Uncle Sehun and Uncle Kai?"
"Zoo? Omma and Peanut come too?" Jang mi asked Hana.
"I--"
"Omma is tired. How about we let her rest hmm?" Luhan cut Hana off.
"Okay." The girl cheered up. Luhan picked the girl up and took her to the bedroom to get dressed.
"Get some rest." Luhan told Hana while helping Jang mi put her coat on.
"Please rest well Omma." The girl bowed.
"Be good okay. Keep an eye on your uncles too okay?" Hana got down to the girl's level and fixed her coat.
"Okay." The girl kissed Hana on the cheeks. Luhan bent down and kissed Hana's other cheek.
"Just like her dad." Luhan smiled. Hana's face turned red.
After Luhan and Jang mi left Hana settled herself in bed. By the time she knew it Luhan was asleep next to her on the bed his arms wrapped around her.
"We have 2 hours till dinner. Sleep some more." Luhan held her down when she tried to get up.
"Let me go Luhan. Just because I was being nice around your daughter doesn't mean I'll be nice when she isn't around." Hana told him.
"You're not angry anymore hmm?"
"What are you talking about?" Hana laid still giving up the struggle.
"If you were we'd be at each other's throat right now. Seeing you're allowing my hand still be where they are I'd say you missed me." Luhan smirked. It was true Hana did miss him.
"How long have you been here?" Hana asked curious.
"5 minutes after the guys picked Jang mi up I was right back up here. You know you've become a deep sleeper."
"Why is she here any ways? And who told her she could call me Omma?"
"She my daughter. You're my wife. You're her Omma."
"Well I'm not very comfortable with it." Hana lied. She enjoyed having Jang mi call her mom. It was comforting in a way.
"Well you're not denying it either so just accept it cooly."
"Let me go I need to go to the bath room."
"You know it's been a while since we've been able to talk without going at it." Luhan released Hana.
"There's not much left to fight about." Hana sat up and fixed her hair.
"Thank you for coming back." Luhan hugged her from behind. Hana got up and left for the bathroom while Luhan let his body fall over as she was no longer supporting his weight.
