"Noona has another human being growing inside her. She gets hungry easily." Chanyeol came in with a platter of veggie sticks and peanut butter.
"Here. Eat this first while Kyungsoo cooks." He held the platter to Hana.
"Thank you." Hana lifted her legs and crossed them as she grabbed the platter.
"Do you need anything else?" Luhan asked feeling horrible that he doesn't even know how to make his pregnant wife comfortable.
"I'm good for now." Hana told him as she munched on a wedge of pickle.
"What should we watch?" Chanyeol sat next to her a grabbed the remote control.
"I'm fine with whatever." Hana told the younger one. Seeing he didn't fit in the equation Luhan left to join the rest of the guys in the kitchen.
"Feeling like an outcast hmm?" Xiumin asked seeing Luhan walk into the kitchen.
"Don't worry. It's not just you. Noona and Chanyeol hyung have a weird connection when it comes to being couch potatoes." Kai was looking over D.O's shoulder as the older one was chopping up some kimchi.
"Guys. I feel like I know nothing about her." Luhan confessed.
"It takes time. It took me up until two days ago to know pickles and peanut butter makes the Peanut in noona happy." Suho told the older one.
"Why is my child being called Peanut?" Luhan asked curious.
"Because Peanut looks like a peanut. See?" Lay showed the ultrasound photo to him.
"How did you get this?" Luhan asked grabbing the phone to get a closer look.
"We accompanied noona to her last check up." Kai snatched a piece of kimchi when D.O had his back turned.
"We even heard Peanut's heart beat." D.O smacked Kai's hand away from trying to get seconds.
"Why do I feel like I've missed so much?" Luhan groaned as he face palmed himself on the countertop.
"That's because you did." Suho stated the obvious.
"Yeh. Hana used to have crazy morning sickness that lasted throughout the day. Luckily it subsided after the first month." Xiumin closed the fridge after organizing theme groceries into it.
"Morning sickness?"
"Yeh. You know. Blegh!" Kai stuck his tongue out.
"Stay away from fish. She gets nauseous from the smell." Lay informed him.
"And she enjoys green juice. Two apples, half a lemon, a handful of green grapes, some spinach, and pineapple juice. Make sure the pineapple juice is partially frozen so it'll chill the drink just right. Not fully frozen, it'll be too cold. Instead of a juicer use a blender since she and Peanut needs the fibers and nutrients." D.O gave him some pointers.
"How is it that you guys know so much?"
"Just ask her." Xiumin patted him on the back.
"She's alot more vocal now." Lay grabbed a piece of noodle and threw it at the fridge door.
"Noodles are ready." Lay informed D.O.
"Save some of the pasta liquid in a bowl, drain the rest out and pour it in here." D.O instructed the older one while stirring the sauce.
"Nooo!" Hana could be heard whining from the living room. Luhan went to go check what she and Chanyeol was doing. The two were on their phones doing what looks like playing a game.
"Eat the mushroom!" Chanyeol was instructing Hana. Luhan returned to the kitchen.
"Wait. What I want to know is why you guys hide the pregnancy from me? Hana had every reason to. But you guys?" He asked.
"Hana didn't want us to tell you. We weren't even supposed to know had Kris not taken his one night stand to the women's health center to get tested." Lay was getting plate out of the cupboards.
"Plus if you had not been such an you would have known from the beginning." Xiumin added.
"Did you guys use a broken or something? Cuz you should have known she was bound to get pregnant if you weren't using protection." Suho asked.
"We..." Luhan tried to recall the use of protection and none came to mind. He remembered seeing a pack of pills in Hana's bag and throwing it away as well.
"Didn't use any protection."
"Then you should have known that she was going to be pregnant." Xiumin grabbed a water jug from the fridge.
"Hot water coming through." Suho announced carrying a cup of hot tea to the table for Hana.
"I wasn't expecting it to be this soon." Luhan retorted.
They were all at the table eating lunch.
"This is soo good. Thank you Kyungsoo." Hana thanked the self-proclaimed chef.
"No problem." He smiled.
"So Luhan. When are you going to hold the wedding?" Xiumin asked.
"Wedding?" Hana asked.
"Yeh. You guys should have a formal wedding to announce your marriage."
"I don't think that's a good idea." Hana shrunk into her seat.
"I was planning on a small wedding with just close family and friends." Luhan stepped into the conversation.
"We can do it on Jeju Island so it'll be easier for my mother." He continued.
"Mother? I thought--"
"That's his step mom. We don't speak of her unless we absolutely have to." Chanyeol whispered to her.
"She'll be excited to see you." Luhan stuffed a fork full of spaghetti into his mouth.
After lunch Luhan offered to do the dishes.
"Hyung we're leaving. Call if you need anything." Suho told Luhan.
"Mmm."
"Thank you guys for the meal." Hana walked the guys to the door.
"No problem. If you need anything just call." Suho told Hana.
"I will." She gave them all a hug each.
"Bye."
Hana closed the door and walked into the kitchen to see Luhan drying the dishes.
"Go rest." He said without looking away from the plate he was wiping. Hana stood there for a minute before leaving. When he finished cleaning he went into the living to look for Hana. She was sitting on the couch with a pen and notebook.
Hana took out photos she took with Xiumin, Lay, Suho, D.O, Chanyeol and Kai and pasted it into the book.
"What are you doing?" Luhan asked.
"Nothing." Hana continued to write something into the notebook. Luhan settled himself next to her and caught a glance at what she was doing. She was writing a message to Peanut. He saw the Polaroid camera in the coffee table and picked it up.
"Where did you get this?" He asked.
"I asked Chanyeol to stop by my place to grab it knowing I'd be here and not home." Hana replied.
"You are home." Luhan lifted the camera and took a photo.
"Put this one in too." He gave her the photo.
"No. I don't want to." Hana refused.
"Why? I should be in there too." Luhan whined.
"Only precious memories can be included." Hana asserted.
"This is a precious moment." Luhan was hurt by her words.
"Fine." Hana grabbed the photo and pasted it on a page.
"I'll write the message." Luhan took the pen.
"Omma ignoring Appa. But it's okay. Appa still loves her very much. You too my precious Peanut." Luhan read out loud what he wrote.
"Perfect!" He held the book up to admire his work.
"Can I ask you something?" Luhan but the book down.
"What?" Hana capped the glue stick.
"Why didn't you tell me you were pregnant?"
"Because." Hana got up from her seat and grabbed the notebook.
"Because why?" Luhan followed her to the bedroom.
"Just because." Hana continued to her closet.
"That's not a proper answer." Luhan argued.
"Do you really want to know why?" Hana snapped at him.
"Yeh I do!" Luhan snapped back.
"Because I was scared you might take it away." Hana finally exploded.
"What?"
"This thing between us can be over at any time and you have more power to get the baby when you are done with me." Hana calmed her voice down.
"And? You're just going to hide my, no OUR child away like that?" Luhan walked up to Hana pinning her to a wall.
"This relationship may be a result of a piece of paper. But it's more than just a piece of paper to me, it's my life. You are my life." Luhan caressed her face with one hand and wrapped the other around her waist.
"I love you." He brought his lips onto her's.
"Just let me show you how much." He pulled her head to his chest. Hana could no longer hold her tears in as she burst into tears.
"I don't know if I can be a good mother."
"It's going to be okay. I'm right here. We can do it together." He comforted her.
"Why don't you rest in bed? I have some paper work to look over. I'll be in the living room if you need anything." He pulled away and swept the stray strands of hair away from her face. Hana nodded and let him lead her to the bed. After tucking Hana in Luhan went into the living room and began working.
By the time Hana woke up it was already dark. She turned the lamp on and sat up. Taking her hair tie she fixed her hair before pulling the covers off and stepping out of bed. As she got closer to the door she could hear Luhan on the phone and chopping sounds. Opening the door she exited the room and spotted Luhan running around the kitchen.
"No. Just email it to me I'll look over. And don't forget to send the paperwork to Global Corporations." Luhan had his Bluetooth in his ear while chopping carrots. He noticed Hana as she entered the kitchen.
"All right. Make sure you have the things I asked you to prepare for me ready tomorrow morning." Luhan hung up.
"You're awake." He greeted her with a smile.
"Mmm. What are you doing?" Hana asked glancing over what looks like a homemade cookbook.
"Veggie Soup." He said proud.
"Oh. Okay." Hana grabbed a glass from the cupboards and poured some water for herself.
"Did you want to snack on something while you wait? I prepared some fruits in the fridge for you." He threw the carrots into the pot.
"I'm fine." Hana grabbed her vitamins from the paper bag on the countertop.
"Do you know where my phone is?" Hana asked.
"It should be in your purse. James said he put it in there." Hana disappeared for a bit and came back with his phone in hand. Luhan saw Hana typing in his phone.
"What are you doing?" He asked seeing Hana had his phone.
"I can't find my phone. Well more like yours was the first one I saw so I grabbed it. You don't mind right? I just need to log in my vitamin intakes." Hana typed in the new Vitamins she received.
"Go for it." He told her. When she was done she place the phone back to where she found it.
"Here taste this." Luhan held a spoon of soup in front of her. Hana took a sip from the spoon.
"Wow. That's really good." Hana was impressed by the taste.
"It is my mom's recipe after all. And you wanna know the secret ingredient is?" He asked.
"Love." He said gleefully. Hana cringed at the words that came out of his mouth but a side of her found it super cute.
"Kimchi." Hana got up and opened the fridge. She grabbed a tub out. There was a sticky note stuck to it.
"I figured you crave some but this hyung never has kimchi in his fridge so I brought some of my mom's best kimchi. Enjoy. Chanyeol." She read out the note.
"Kyah this kid knows me too well." Hana opened the tub. She ripped a piece and stuffed it into her mouth.
"Mmm." She savored the taste of the kimchi.
"Note to self. Food makes you happy." Luhan chuckled seeing Hana's happy mood.
They were sitting at the table eating dinner.
"This is our first meal together with just the two of us." Luhan placed some kimchi on Hana's spoon of rice.
"Three." Hana stuffed the food on her spoon in her mouth.
"Three..." Luhan couldn't help but smile at the thought of Hana and Peanut.
"Ah. I forgot. You'll be going to work with me tomorrow." Luhan informed.
"What? Why? No. I don't want to." Hana refused.
"Your brother and I already talked it out. I don't want to risk letting to you stay home alone so you'll be coming with me to work. I already have everything set for you. There's no not going." He asserted.
"Xiumin Oppa lives right down the hall and there are security all over this building. I'll be fine."
"Don't call him oppa." Luhan began getting jealous.
"Why? He's older than me and were close enough to do so." She argued.
"You never call me Oppa. And I'm older than you too."
"Well you're Chinese so the rules don't apply to you."
"Yes it does when I'm married to you, a Korean." He pointed his chopstick at her.
"Don't point your chopsticks at me." Hana glared at him.
"Sorry." He retreated his chopsticks. Hana let out a sigh before putting her spoon down.
"What's wrong now?" Luhan asked seeing Hana's angry mood change to a sad one.
"I don't know. I think I'm full. I'm gonna go shower." She got up from her seat and left.
Luhan finished eating and cleaned up. He decided to use the second bathroom and wash up as well. Hana washed up and got into some comfy pajama bottoms and a plain shirt. She walked out to the living room with a blanket and a pillow. Luhan had just gotten out of the bathroom with his pajama bottoms on and his shirt hanging on his shoulders as he dried his hair with a towel.
"Can you put a shirt on please?" Hana asked turning away.
"You've seen so much more. No need to be embarrassed." Luhan laughed ignoring her request.
"You planning on sleeping out here?" He asks noticing the things in her arms.
"No. You are." She turned around and dropped the blanket and pillow in the couch.
"Good night." She returned to the bedroom.
"There's no way I'm sleeping on the couch." Luhan grabbed the blanket and followed Hana into the bedroom.
"You kinda have to. I'm not a fan of sharing a bed." She fluffed her pillow.
"Oh really now?" Luhan jumped on his side of the bed and smirked.
"Leave while I'm still content." Hana threaten as she burrowed herself under the warm comforter.
"No. I don't want to. It's my room anyways." Luhan pouted.
"Should I go home to my room then?"
"Fine. But just let me stay here for a bit." Luhan gave up. He turned to face Hana who was leaning on the headboard scrolling through her phone. He slowly moved around until his head found its way to her lap.
"What are you doing?" Hana asked keeping her attention on her phone.
"Hi." Luhan gently tapped Hana's stomach.
"Lu--" Hana was about to scold Luhan but her heart melted seeing him smile so cheerfully at her stomach.
"Appa can't wait to see you." He cooed.
"Should we speak Chinese or Korean to Peanut?" Luhan asked Hana.
"I don't know. My Chinese is fairly minimal so I'll stick with Korean." Hana replied going back to her phone.
"I'll speak both." Luhan took the opportunity to kiss her stomach. He continued to ooggle little comments to Peanut.
"Hana?" Luhan sat up.
"Mmm?"
"What are we going to name it?" Hana's hand traveled down to her stomach and rubbed it.
"I don't know." She turn her phone off and placed in to the night stand.
"Can my mom name it?"
"Sure." Slipped under the covers.
"Thank you."
"For what?" Hana asked with her eyes closed.
"For having my baby." He quickly leaned down and gave her a peck of the cheeks before running out.
"Goodnight!" He ran back to close the door.
Hana was too tired to react so she just let it go.
