I never noticed the booze
Or all the context clues
My dad hurt u
He hurt me too
I kissed a couple of dudes
But that was in my youth
"Nick"
I'm still confused
I'm still confused
How'm i the family glue?
I'm only 22
"Nick?"
My egos huge
I'm still a douche
"NICK!
Breaking hearts till they bruise
Or at least trying to
Sex doesn't do
What it used to do
I'm a coward too
With the shortest fuse
"NICHOLAS NELSON"

His headphones were ripped off of his head and he snapped out of his trance. Charlie was right in front of him, looking into his eyes and smiling that dorky grin that Nick had grown to treasure.
"Jesus Christ Charlie, can't a guy listen to his music without being interrupted anymore?" Nick smiled at his boyfriend why gave him back his beloved headphones.
Nick didn't usually like listening to music. He claimed that only people who could play instruments listened to music, but ironically, it was his drummer boyfriend who'd gotten him into this band, and finally gotten Nick to regularly listen to music, well, at least this band. Mickey Darling.

It was a solid good  band with relatable lyrics. It had been months but figuring himself out had been a bumpy ride, filled with tears. It had been really hard for both him and Charlie, what with the breakdowns and gay panic and whatnot. Finally Nick had realized that he was bisexual. He liked both guys and gals so to speak.

But right now he just liked Charlie. In a romantic way.

Charlie pulled him out of his thoughts once again by tapping his shoulder.

"Are you okay Nick? You seem a little out of it today"
"I'm alright. Just thinking"

A flash of worry flashed in Charlie's face but he didn't say anything. He knew Nick would talk to him if it was anything serious.

And Nick was going to talk to Charlie about it, eventually, when he was ready. It was silly, honestly, his big brother David had just been getting under his skin lately with the whole casual-homophobia-is-so-cool-and-epic thing. He was wrong of course, and Nick knew that, but it was still hard for him sometimes, and every once in a while he would question himself.

He knew he liked Charlie, he probably loved him to be honest, and that was usually enough, but days like this was hard.

David had been teasing him all morning, and right now he just needed to forget all about it.

Charlie had started walking and Nick caught up to him and attacked him with a hug from behind. Man, physical contact was great. Maybe this whole coming out thing was for the best. The glances he'd usually get when holding hands with Charlie didn't hurt anymore. They never hurt when he was with Charlie. He loved Charlie and he just made everything feel better. Immediately all of his worries disappeared and he quickly kissed his boyfriend who giggled in return.
"What was that for?"
"Nothing special, I just love you"
