Tw, mention of alcohol, throwing up
Charlie wouldn't say he was a party animal.
Yes, he drank sometimes but it was never really bad, He had never even been hungover before. Well. Until today.
He woke up in extreme pain. All colors seemed to bright, small noises like the birds chattering outside sounded just as loud as explosions to him and the sun outside his window was slowly drilling a hole into his brain.
He groaned loudly and turned around in bed to where his very-awake-very-sober-very-not-hungover boyfriend was sitting. Nick was smirking at him. Of course he was. And of course he was sober. Charlie knew he ended up drinking a little too much sometimes, but this was at new levels, even from him.
They hadn't planned to party last night but nick was back home from university for the summer holiday and the Paris squad met up. Someone brought alcohol as they always did when they finally hung out after a long time and things got out of hand. No biggie though, they were all safe.
Shit. Panic hit Charlie in an instant and he looked to his boyfriend with wide eyes.
"Shit, Nick, we didn't- you know- right?" Nick calmly looked back at him and gave him a genuine smile.
"Of course not Char, we were both super drunk. You know how important consent is, and you can't consent when you're drunk." A warm feeling of safety filled up Charlie. Of course nothing had happened. Nick was good and he would never do anything to hurt him.
Charlie tried to stand up, only to crash right back into his bed.
"Fuck!" He exclaimed. His head was hurting more than ever before and he was incredibly dizzy. Not laying down seemed impossible.
"I'm never drinking again" He continued and Nick giggled at him before getting up and starting to walk out of his boyfriends room, gladly muttering something like:
"Sure you won't" Charlie proceeded to make an embarrassing whining noise and felt sorry for himself for a while before Nick came back with a glass of water and an aspirin.
"Come on darling, the rest are all downstairs, try walking there and we'll all have breakfast." Charlie quickly glanced at the clock in his bedside table.
"It's 3 pm Nick"
"Lunch then" Charlie muttered something in agreement and took the aspirin before getting out of bed again, tripping on empty bottles and falling straight into his boyfriend's chest.
"I'm gonna-" he quickly broke free from the hug and ran to the bathroom, and throwing up into the toilet.
Nick was just behind him and was muttering words of affirmation while gently petting his boyfriend's hair, it was still way too short to hold back so this would have to do.
After a solid 10 minutes they came out of the bathroom and within another 10 they were down in the kitchen, getting greetings from all of their friends.
Darcy and Tara were practically sitting on top of each other, Tao and Elle were nowhere to be seen and Aled and Isaac were sat in the corner of the room, discussing some book they had just read. Darcy smiled at Charlie in understanding. She didn't look to be feeling too great either.
"There's pancakes on the stove" Tara told them with a grin and Nick went and got some for himself and Charlie. They both sat down and engaged in conversation about whatever antics that had done last night and they laughed and chatted for hours. Eventually Elle, Tao, Isaac and Aled joined them and they switched over to talking about everyone's plans for the summer. At some point someone cooked pasta and they would continue to sit right there and chat and eat, into early hours of the night. Summer days, am I right?
Charlie Spring loved his friends more than anything, and it was nights like last night that Charlie would use to remember his high school experience. Yes, it sucked at times but they had a blast, and he really, really loved his friends.
