"Mom, this cannot be happening! Isn't there something these doctors can do!? I can't let you leave me mom. This just can't be happening right now."
I love my dearest Savannah so much. It's truly unfortunate knowing I won't be able to be with my baby girl while she grows up.
I try to stay as calm and as strong as possible.
"Sav, I know this is hard but-I can't do anything about this. It's too late. Maybe if I would've came in sooner they could've helped me but honey, there is absolutely nothing I can do, that the doctors can do, or that you can do for that matter. The only thing you CAN do is be strong. I never had the chance to tell you this but you're so strong."I hold her in my arms, cherishing every moment that I have left with her.
"Listen babe, your father will take good care of you. And I don't know if you two are still close like you used to be, but just know he's here for you if you need to talk, okay? If you don't want to talk to him, talk to a councilor at school! I can get you a therapist too!"
She looks up at me like a little puppy begging for food.
"Momma, I love you so much."
She hugs me tight. My poor girl shouldn't be worrying.
"Sav, honey, I'll find a way to stick around here and bug you for the rest of your days. Sound good to you? So if you ever feel like there's a creepy presence or something, it's probably just me trying to mess with ya. Nothing to be afraid about!"
She looks at me and laughs while at the same time crying. All of these emotions, just flowing in.
"Hey, on the bright side babe, you can have the rest of my money once I'm dead! How's that sound?"
That was probably one of the stupidest things I could ever say at this moment.
"Mom! Don't say that, that's not even funny. I'd rather take you over stupid money."
"Sorry honey," I reply, "I'm just trying to lighten the mood. Now listen, I do have to break the news to your grandparents and your father. You can sit here and eat all of the ice cream I have in the freezer. I rented some stupid comedy movies from Redbox too, if you want to watch them they're right on top of the DVD player. So I'm going to get going. I'll see ya later kiddo. I love you, don't forget that."I'll never stop loving my baby girl, my princess. Not even when I die.
