You squinted your eyes as Diluc started a small fire. "Ghost story?" Kaeya cooed. "No, you always tell the worst stories!" Diluc laughed. "I don't think they're bad, they're just really scary!" You shouted, hitting the redhead's shoulder. "How are they scary?" Kaeya asked, rolling in the snow.

It was Kaeya's 15th birthday, and the three of you decided to go to the outskirts of Dragonspine. "They're all about kidnapping and getting your head removed, that shit is scary!" You growled, shaking your hands.

Kaeya rolled his eyes and Diluc rubbed his shoulder while you blew into your hands. "Cold?" Diluc asked. "No, obviously not, it's not like we're in Dragonspine or anything." You mumbled. "When will Jean be here?" Kaeya asked. "Ooo~ Do you like her?" Diluc teased.

"Ew, no! I'm dating this idiot right here, and Jean likes women anyways!" Kaeya yelled, pointing at you and throwing snow at his brother's face. "I WAS JOKING, NO NEED TO THROW SNOW AT ME!" Diluc hollered back. The two wrestled on the ground and you sighed, rubbing your head. "Hey guys, I'm here!" Jean shouted, waving.

"Well if it isn't the Dandelion Knight herself~" You chuckled. "Shut up and look at this." She told you, sitting at your side while the brothers continued to fight. She showed you a book that her mother had given her and you flipped through the pages. "What is it?" You asked. "A book on Old Mondstadt!" She smiled.

"Ew, history," Kaeya grumbled. "Shut up and let her be Jean!" You scolded, throwing a snowball at the boy. "DON'T BE MEAN!" You rolled your eyes and scooched closer to Jean, wrapping part of her coat around you.

"And then the dragon JUMPED OUT OF THE FOREST AND SNATCHED THE WIDOW AWAY!" Kaeya snapped, jumping at you. You gave him a look and he smiled smugly. "Looks like you're getting better with these stories, y/n." He huffed, running his hands through his hair. "Whatever.." You mumbled. It was getting dark and the four of you would have to get back soon.

"I should leave guys, I told my mom I'd be back before sunset." Jean yawned, stretching. "Yea, we should get going too." Diluc mumbled, standing up and motioning to Kaeya.

"You leaving, y/n?" Jean questioned. "Nah, I'll stay here a bit longer. My parents won't mind." You smiled. "Mk, I'll see you guys tomorrow, stay safe." Jean beamed, walking off. "Bye, y/n." Diluc yawned, waving to you as he walked away.

"Goodnight Captain~" You snickered as Diluc gave you a disapproving look. Kaeya snickered with you and he hit the back of the boy's head, leaving. The boy mumbled and waddled over to you, kissing your cheek softly before following his brother.

"Happy birthday." You said. Kaeya turned his head towards you with a smile and waved. "Goodnight, darling." "Goodnight, love." After a few moments, the brothers were gone, and it was just you by the crackling fire. You liked the quiet, and the fire was keeping you pretty warm, so it wasn't too bad.

You moved your knees to your chest and sighed, staring into the fire and humming quietly. You heard some faint footsteps, so you assumed it was Jean, but you began listening closely when they stopped. You looked around and shivered when you didn't see anything, turning back to the fire.

Suddenly, someone grabbed you from behind and covered your mouth. You were able to look up and see a large Fatui agent. You widened your eyes in fear and kicked and scratched, but he didn't let go. "What a pretty little boy/girl you are~" He growled, backing up from the fire. You tried to scream out but it was no use.

The next day

Jean, Kaeya, and Diluc stood nervously in front of the Grand Master's desk as he sighed. "So none of you know what happened?" They shook their heads and the Grand Master mumbled to himself. "Well then, don't worry. We'll get them back." He stood up and walked out of the room to talk to some Knights, leaving the three standing in silence.

"This is my fault. I should have stayed with them." Kaeya whispered, his fists shaking. "Kaeya, this wasn't your fault. It was none of our faults. Besides, we'll find them." Jean said comfortingly, rubbing his back. The boy turned his head away and Jean sighed, looking to Diluc for help.

"Brother, we'll find them, I'm sure of it. And once we do, we'll become knights, y/n will become the best adventurer Teyvat has ever seen, and we'll all be happy, alright?" Kaeya nodded softly and the two hugged him.
