"How does it feel to be back?" Martha asked.

Cassidy smiled as she looked around her apartment. Oddly enough she had missed it these last couple of months.

"Great honestly. I'm just looking forward to getting back to work."

Her mother smiled softly.

"It's about time we put everything behind us and went back to our lives."

It was about time, Cassidy agreed. Rose's trial had been two weeks ago, and she had been found guilty, shocker. The families who had lost their loved ones had gotten the justice they deserved.

Leon had asked Cassidy to go to the trial, but she had declined. The visit to Rose had been enough and seeing Rose was not something Cassidy was ready for right now.

"You're coming over for dinner tonight, aren't you?" her mother asked.

Cassidy nodded.

"Of course. I have a meeting with a client in a bit and once I'm done I'll head over."

"Do you need a ride?"

"It's not too far away. I could do with the exercise."

Both women left the apartment together and headed downstairs. Once Cassidy saw her mother safely in the car and on her way, she began walking to the coffee shop where she was meeting her client.

Over the last six months, she had had a lot of free time to bake and try new ideas. She had started a small business page online showcasing the cakes she had made. It had always been a dream of hers to own a bakery one day and she figured why not give it a shot. It was still at the beginning stages, and she didn't have many clients yet, but time would help.

The meeting with the client went so great that as she was walking back ideas of the wedding cake that she was going to design floated through her head. This had been their last meeting to finalize the details so Cassidy could get started with the baking as the wedding was only a week away.

"Cassidy?" a voice called, interrupting her thoughts.

Cassidy froze.

She knew that voice.

She had imagined that voice calling her name numerous times over the past months. Every scenario possible had run through her mind and now that it was happening, she was frozen to the spot.

"Cassidy," he said again, this time closer. He was right behind her.

She took a deep breath. This was no big deal. She could do this. Slowly, she turned to see the man who had plagued her thoughts for the past six months.

He looked as good as ever, dressed in navy jeans and a white button shirt. His hair was a mess as usual and there was a smile on his face as he looked at her.

"It is you," he said happily.

"Wyatt," she breathed.

She hadn't allowed herself to say his name out loud. It made her miss him and want to see him, and those were luxuries she hadn't granted herself.

"How are you?" he asked.

"I'm good. How have you been?" she asked politely, a small smile on her face.

It was good to see him again.

She had missed him.

In that short space of time, he had grown on her. She had found herself thinking about him in the most mundane of situations, like when she was cooking, or sketching new designs.
