Rudra was always mischievous and hard to deal with. Rulebreaker was a perfect fit to describe his personality. Today was so different from another day. Perhaps today Rudra was tensed and nervous about breaking specific news to his family members, not that he is scared of them nevertheless, he was to his father.
Stepping down to the living room where almost all the members were present indulged in their musings, he cleared his throat. He expected them to quit their ongoing work and look at him affectionately instead they ignored him and continued their own lives.
He stepped forward to reach his elder brother and his wife, Rudra's Sister-in-law. As anticipated he instantly regretted stepping into their boundaries. He didn't regret ruining their moment however he thought of his poor virgin nineteen years old eyes.
"I will miss you." His brother Shivaay mumbled nuzzling his wife's neck. Watching the moment Rudra rolled his eyes and twisted his mouth. "I will end this contract with Chef Sanjyot as working the backstage. Then we apply for visas after your exams."
He is acting as if he is going to war. Billu and his Billi.
"Me too Shivi. Umm." Rudra shut his eyes glancing at his sister-in-law was now kissing his brother.
"Stop it both of you." Rudra gripped both of their shoulders and separated them from each other clutches. "Papa was right. You both should be in your flat not kissing here. I understand you both can't keep each other off but think of me. Already."
Groaning and shooting a few deadly glares at Rudra, Shivaay and Annika stood separated but with intertwined hands regardless they united the next second clinging to each other, as their life depended.
"We have been shameless yesterday and today isn't less. Don't get scared Shivi, I'm here."
Rudra clenched his jaw, grinding his molars. He had never discovered a couple like them. During his early teens, he had complained about his parents being too affectionate and touchy but seeing Shivaay and Annika he sensed a wave of relief from not seeing them during his time.
Imagine kids learning from them.
"Guys at least you tell them. This is too much." Rudra banged his fist on the wooden teapoy gaining attention from the rest family members, who in turn shook their heads in grievance and returned to their work.
"Newly wedded, so...It will reduce with time. Don't worry chill." His chote papa Shakthi peeked through his newspaper and mumbled. "You should have seen your father. This is nothing compared to bhabhi and him." He grinned.
Listening to Shakti Tej scowled. He was right his younger brother gas to suffer his mushy lovey-dovey things. And to his displeasure, Shivaay had followed the path without any problems. He would have been proud if not in these areas.
"Don't burst the bubble Rudra. Let them enjoy." His mother Jhanvi smiled watching the couple so much into themselves. Too absorbed with each other.
"Mata Rani ka shukar hain, now my blue-eyed grandchildren will run around the front garden." Pinky clasped her hands leaving cutleries and squealed. "And you Rudy disturb mat kar, varna baccha ka process ruk jayega."
[Trans - By Goddess grace,
don't disturb them or it will affect on baby-making process.]Rudra looked horrified with each word. How can all support them and not him? He wondered. He shook his head removing all the dirtiest images that popped up and glimpsed at his grandmother for some moral support, who in return shrugged and went ahead reading her spiritual book.
"Papa at least you could say something-"
Tej peeked from his laptop screen to his son and then diverted his vision to the couple, who were by now whispering things to each other, and blushing furiously.
"Shivaay?" Tej called his favourite lad aloud.
"Yea bade papa?"
"Ignore Rudra." He emotionlessly said and swirled to face Rudra. "And you Rudra, ignore them. Despite my scoldings, they are up to this. A few more months and this all will slow down. Don't worry." He pats Rudra's cheek making him understand.
"Like you did! Wonderful. Like son like father. Shivaay you need to stop learning from your bade papa." Jhanvi commented, listening to the banter ongoing Pinky snickered which was followed by death glares from Tej.
"Yes, badi ma." Shivaay smiled looking at their raised interwoven fingers.
"I promise you guys. I'm never leaving a chance to spoil your moment." Rudra narrowed down his eyes matching the glares of Shivaay.
"So? So you were trying to speak something, what is it?"
Rubbing his nape uncomfortably Rudra stared at the white ceiling with the most importance. He found the ceiling was approximately a few feet in height, uhhm maybe twenty, never mind. The chandelier was clasped with brightness. The golden rays reflected with the room light.
Where did he miss this? This is epic.
"Just after my first semester, I told you guys that I partied with my friends-" he started sensing many pairs of eyes at him.
"So? Why are you bringing this up now?" His mother Jhanvi shrieked with a mild surprise laced tone.
"I'm not allowing you to a party again. Your scores are declining. You need to start studying." His father announced as the end of the conversation.
"Phele sun tho lo." Pinky and Shakthi urged them to listen to the youngest member. Agreeing to them Tej crossed his arms across his chest and puffed with annoyance.
[Trans - first let's listen to him.]
"I didn't attend any party-" he heard many gasps but continued "- I been to attend an audition for a web series which will be launched by this mid-year. And today the production house called me to inform me that I'm selected as the second main lead."
"Haha. Rudy boi your muscles helped you." Annika tooted with animalistic voices. She happily came forward and tightly hugged her little brother-in-law, crushing his boons.
"Congratulations Rudy. When will the shooting start?" Shivaay smiled brightly watching his brother's eyes lit with his bit concern and congratulations.
"They will start after drafting the contract papers and pre-production works. It would be the first week of May. I guess."
"What role do you play?" Pinky asked with excitement.
"Is it like Dev Anand? From older movies?" Shakti intricately asked.
"Actually I had auditioned for playing Vikrant, who is the main lead. But I couldn't bag it. They seemed to like my appearance for Atharv, the second lead. The web series is a medical drama and shows the progress of initial hardships of students." Rudra completed his explanation by looking at his father wanting to see any emotion in him. But to his disappointment, Tej just glazed at him.
"Very nice. At least Shivaay that the strength to inform us but you have gone too far Rudra. You didn't even inform us. Now you are here informing me that you will start working. I'm very disappointed with you." As his words halted he stomped his foot and marched out.
"Papa-"
"You should have told us about this before Rudra. We would have been against it. We are your parents." Jhanvi sighed looking at her paled son.
