"Asteria, you're dying."

A voice flowed through the realm, echoing throughout the entire oblivion. A girl lay on her own pool of blood. There weren't any visible wounds on her body, yet she continued to bleed out. Her silky white hair were soaked on the crimson liquid, her magic knights uniform that once shined along with her graceful presence looked dull just like her eyes.

Her pupils were looking at nowhere. All that she could see was white, but she knew that she wasn't alone. Someone was out there, looking at her, waiting.

"I know," she replied with a small chuckle. She was only waiting for something to happen.

Asteria could no longer feel the magical power that once flowed through her veins and made her feel like she owned the world. She felt so empty, like a piece was missing inside her.

'Is this how Asta feels?' Her childhood friend born with no magic, but was the toughest out of all of them. She was going to miss his loud voice and personality that became her source of strength.

Asteria knew this was bound to happen the moment she decided to use her magic. Excessive mana doesn't only grant power, but it could also lead to severe consequences with your life as payment.

"Do you regret your choice?" The being asked, plopping down next to her. They didn't seem to care about the blood.

Asteria shook her head. "No. I did that for the sake of the Kingdom. There's no regret in that."

"How about the others? The people who hurt you, do you think they regret their choice?" They placed a hand on top of her head and began to stroke her hair.

Of course, they knew more than anyone else. They knew how deep the connection Asteria has with those that wronged her. You may call it destiny, or they were souls that were bound to touch. Of course the being knew so well, because it was them that created all.

Asteria smiled softly. Despite all of the pain she suffered from, she could still bring herself to smile at the thought of her enemies.

"It's okay, light will shine on them. The gods will make them realize what they've done and they will repent."

Yes, she was this kind of person. She had the type of personality where as though she placed the stars on the sky and people would forever praise her for it. That's why they all loved her, and were now grieving at the loss of such a sweet girl.

"It's too late, my child. No one can save you now," they pecked her forehead and showed a smile that didn't reach their eyes. A sad smile. "Not even me."

Of course. They couldn't defy the Laws of Nature and the Rules of Heaven. That would be the greatest sin of all. Asteria, as a loyal child of Heaven, couldn't fathom the idea of going against Their ideals. And it wasn't like God forced the decision on her, it was her own choice to use her power to save her people, because that's what he would've done.

She closed her eyes . . . It was getting harder and harder to breath.

Even though she knew this would happen, she couldn't help but think of him. Suddenly, his smiling face was all she could think about. She didn't have many regrets in her life, she was able to do everything she wanted to do. From being able to learn about magic to exploring the Kingdom as an esteemed Magic Knight, her wishes were fulfilled with her prayers heard.
