Chapter 2

Start of a life changing trip

"Jaaaaaane" called Vicky through the crowd where the classes were waiting by the coaches.

"Jaaaaa-oh there you are" said Vicky awkwardly

"I was right behind you the whole time" sighed Jane

'Typical.....' Jane thought to herself looking up at the clear blue sky, a gentle wind blew through the air just enough to keep cool under the hot summer sun.

Four classes were going on this weekend trip to the beach, the beach they were going to was in Whitby, it was one of the places Dracula was set and Jane was a fan of those books.

Jane was hoping to scare Vicky with ghost tales about the old abbey which she knew would be fun...well less fun for Vicky.

The trip would take almost 3 hours, well for some it seemed almost 3 hours but for Jane it felt like a life time, stuck on a coach with people she didn't particularly like or didn't care about, hearing lots of screaming and shouting, listening to quite un-enjoyable music from random people's phones from different sides of the bus and most likely someone would throw up and she hoped it wouldn't be her.

'Sigh'

This was Jane's version of hell the only way for her to escape was to put in her headphones at full volume, get her drawing pad out and hope for a smooth road and no paper balls being whizzed from one end of the coach to the other, or listen to Vicky jabber for hours and pull faces at people in cars below.... Maybe a bit if both if the noise didn't get to her and to top it all off Jane was car sick on long journeys (well she had never actually been sick but she felt like she would)

It was only 10 minutes into the trip and Jane was already sick of every last person on that coach, even Vicky a little bit. If only everyone would just shut up.

She decided that maybe of she fell asleep the noise would disappear...

1 minute later she thought to her self, 'yep... Stupid idea well maybe I'll read a book.........oh god I feel sick... Never mind I wonder what Vicky is doing '

Vicky started really buzzing at this point and started making a list if things to do when they get to the beach, it wasn't a very long list, but it would last a while because Jane and Vicky they were both very easily distracted by anything, from a bee flying by, to a stone dropping onto the floor.

Jane added one more thing to the list, visit abbey, this had been on Janes' bucket list to see as she had heard all this rumours of it being haunted.

She didn't believe in anything supernatural and was never phased by anything like that but Vicky on the other hand.... Well if someone even jumped up at her she would scream, she even swears she saw a ghost and her house is haunted so Jane (being the great friend she is) told her a story about Vicky's house and how she had researched (which she hadn't) and found something about a murder of a child in Vicky's house and this scared her because she had a proper Victorian rocking horse which creaked a lot, Jane was desperately trying not to laugh at her face while telling her. So she just had to take them both to the abbey at night just to scare her a little.

Jane was happily planing all this in her head and Vicky caught a glance of Janes' evil planning face and started to get a bit cautious but laughed and carried on being hyper about getting to the beach.

5 long hours of constant chatter later they finally arrived. The air was clean and and the beach was bright it was just perfect. Everyone piled off the coaches and went straight for the hotel.

The teachers said the students could go to the beach for the rest of the day, but back to the hotel at 10pm

The teachers would be watching from the nearby pier and it was a safe area so staying out late wasn't an issue.

Jane and Vicky got changed and headed for the area with the most shade, heat got to Vicky very quickly and made her feel faint but after a while she adjusted and was trying to drag Jane about to get to the coast, although Jane was very much against this she had not planned on getting very wet nor wanted to.

The smell of sea side air gave Jane and Vicky a relaxed and cheerful feeling, the sea was a clear blue and was sparkling beautifully as the suns light hit it. The sound of the waves drowned out by the sound of laughter and talking. The sun shone on Jane and Vicky's backs as the lay on the beach thinking if what to do next, it was warm and soothing just completing the atmosphere making it all just...perfect.
