"I was human over 350 years ago, hell it could've been 4000 years. Time passes by so smoothly..."
(Chris' POV, 4010 years ago)
I was walking outside, enjoying the sun. I'd just finished my first exorcism and I was so proud, I'd saved his life. My best friend, Josh or Balz as I like to call him, was with me, and he shared in the joy and pride I felt.
"Chris I can't believe it! We saved that guys life!" I had a joyful grin on my face as he rambled on about the exorcism and how happy he was. I hadn't heard him this happy since we'd joined the church. I wasn't particularly a religious though.
Balz was a priest whilst I was just an exorcist they called in whenever they needed me. I wasn't too fussed, it gave me enough time to focus on my job, my family and the things I enjoyed. My mother and Father had died a few years ago in a house fire, only me and my brother Kuza escaped.
Weird, right? Well, I didn't question it, but after that horrific night I trained as an exorcist and eventually became an exorcist. Kuza, on the other hand, had become addicted to drugs and whenever I saw him I wanted to cry. He had truly started to lose all hope.
"Hey, I'm going to go home, tell the others how it went alright?" Balz looked confused due to me leaving abruptly but didn't question it. "Alright, well I'll see you tomorrow." He said softly, hugging me goodbye.
I kept my head down low as I walked back to my house, I didn't want to attract any unwanted attention. Unfortunately, I didn't get what I wanted. Before I could raise my head, i grunted in pain as someone punched me in the stomach.
As I dropped, they brought their knee up and I yelled out in pain as I felt it collide with my nose, blood splattering the ground beneath me. As the assault continued, I curled into a ball, powerless against the onslaught.
I didn't know what I'd done to deserve this, was it based on my appearance? Was it due to my lack of religious faith? I didn't know. I laid there until it was over, drenched in sweat and blood.
When I was certain they'd gone, I ran home. Kuza opened the door and I fell into his arms, crying softly. "Jesus, Chris, what happened to you?" He mumbled, helping me into the kitchen. I stayed silent whilst he cleaned the blood off of me.
"I don't know I-I was just walking and I was attacked." I said softly, hanging my head in shame. Kuza cursed before punching the wall. "This is a joke. Look, I swore I wouldn't tell you until you were old enough. But I've had enough, its time you learned the truth."
"The truth?" I asked, tilting my head in confusion. Kuza sighed and looked down. Within a minute, I watched him transform into a beast, a monster. His eyes were bright red and he had a pair of devil horns on his head.
"What the fuck?!" I shouted, forgetting my pain, standing up hard enough to make the chair fall over. "I'm a demon, Chris. When our 'Father' adopted us, we changed. To be more Human. But our dad contacted me, and released this. I remember everything."
"What the fuck do you mean by that? What crack are you on?" He sighed, and looked at me. "You hadn't noticed by now? You and I are the children of the demon king. We are Princes, we shouldn't be here with this filth."
"No. Yo-You must be on something!"
"We were the children of the demon king and his Angel mistress. When she gave birth and saw us, she hid us here. To protect us. I don't know why she just didn't take us to dad."
This must've been a joke, right? Some sick prank maybe? But everything he told me seemed to resonate inside of me, which scared me.
But he was clearly a demon, I could see it with my own eyes.
"It's time for us to go home, Brother. Let's leave this infernal place, and go to our Father. If you don't come with me willingly, then I'll drag you there myself. You can't stay on Earth much longer, soon you'll end up the true you."
"No!" I screamed at him, standing up. To my surprise, my hand felt hot. Very hot. I looked and yelled as I tried to shake the black flames off of my arm. What the fuck. "It's starting, you need to come home."
And I didn't have a choice, he took me there anyway.
(Ricky's POV, Present time)
"...And that's how I became the demon king and how I met all of you."
I was astounded, I didn't know Chris had a backstory with that much depth. He used to be like me, too. "Y-You was like me...An exorcist." I breathed in shock. Chris laughed before shaking his head.
"No. I might've lied when I told you I used to be human, because I've always been this, a demon. Only two people alive know of my mother, and I intend to keep it that way. So don't tell anybody please."
I nodded and smiled at him softly.
I didn't know what to say. Chris pressed one hand against my chest and closed his eyes, murmuring something before my chest grew warm and then hot. The heat soon became agonising although I stayed silent.
Chris smiled softly at me afterwards and kissed me softly. "There. Now you have your soul back, little raccoon."
"Raccoon? Where did you get that from?" I said, frowning at the weird nickname. Chris pointed at the mirror and I gasped as I saw. My eyes were surrounded in a thick darkness, similar to raccoon eyes. "Fucking hell."
