home at last

"kenz wake up, were home." my brother topper said, he pushed my arm off of the center council in the car. this sudden movement made me drop my head and hitting it. Topper bursted out laughing.

"what the hell topper. i was sleeping if you couldn't tell." i said in a sleepy voice.

the last few nights i havent been able to sleep with all the excitement of coming home and it also being summer.

"we're home, you can stay in the car if you want but im taking the keys and turning it off." he said with a slight annoyance in his tone.

topper turned off the car and i sighed while opening the door to get out. "can you help me get my stuff out of the car."

i was still tired and i knew i wasnt able to get all of my stuff out of the car. "whats the magic word?" he said with a girly voice it made me chuckle.

"please" i begged while giving him puppy dog eyes. "that wasnt the magic word, but sure." he sighed.

"rafe is coming over in about 30 minutes. just so you know." he warned me. "oh okay." i said pretending i didnt care.

rafe and i had never dated but we did have a fling last summer, thats part of the reason i couldnt wait for boarding school to start in the fall.

its been almost a year, and i hope he doesn't bring it up because i never told sarah or topper. they both would've hated me.

topper and i started to bring my bags in. while i was out alone rafe pulled up in his big silver truck.

"long time no see mak!" he yelled as he hoped out. oh my god no one else called me mak.

"rafe is she annoying you? just ignore her!" topper yelled out again cutting me off right before i speak.

"im not annoying him topper i didnt even get to reply." i say with annoyance and give him the side eye.

i finally put the last bag into my room. topper stopped helping like 30 minutes ago.

i changed into a blue bathing suit and white washed jean shorts.

"topp, im going for a ride." i told him as i walked off to the garage where my old jeep was. i hadn't used it in a while since i couldn't take it to school.

i connected my phone to the car and turned on my playlist and the first song to come on was space song.

i didnt really know where i was going but i kinda just ended up at the camerons house.

i got out out of the car and knocked on the door.
"wheezie! oh em gee, how have you been!" i say while pulling her into a hug.

"ive been good! i missed you so much kenzie!" she replied with a smile while letting go of the hug first.

"i miss you too!" i tell her while smiling at how much she had grown up.

"makenzie?" someone far down the hallway calls out making my head turn. "sarah!" i yelled as i ran to the blonde girl.

"oh my god, sarah i missed you." i said pulling her into a hug.

"i miss you more kenz!" she said not letting go of me. "your never leaving again i dont care." she tells me while letting me out of a hug and looking in my eyes.

i smile at her, "so i heard there is a party at the bone- yard later." i tell her.

"yes! lets go get ready! i wanna go." sarah says while dragging me up stairs.
