I

THIS is where I'll say that it's my first day being a junior high school!

Yey!

Not.

I didn't know that it'd be this hassle to attend school! I can see myself regretting my decision of begging my Dad to stop homeschool-ing me, and stop caging me inside the four walls of our house.

If the set-up of all the schools was this chaotic, I wouldn't have begged for this! I'd rather be annoyed by my own homeschool teacher, than to have my face covered up with sweat this early in the morning!

"Students, kung hindi kayo makiki-cooperate, mabibilad kayo diyan sa araw ng mas matagal!" The teacher said with the use of microphone he's holding. I can sense that he's also irritated because it's really too hot and all the students are being students, not listening to what the teachers instruct.

Pinapapila kasi nila kami dito sa ground, according to our sections. At masasabi kong nagpapakabait ako rito, kino-control 'yong sarili kong hindi sigawan 'tong dalawang babaeng nasa harapan ko na kanina pa nagtutulakan at naghahampasan.

Global warming's a bull. And that's because of the kind of people like these two girls in front of me, talking about shits like how should they flirt with whoever the hot guy they're discussing about. Sana naman alam nilang 'yong pagda-daldalan nila, nakakadagdag sa init, considering the carbon dioxide they're releasing. Nagtutulakan pa sila. Nakalimutan yatang hindi lang sila 'yong nakapila.

"Excuse me, pero pwedeng 'wag kayong magtulakan? Nakakasangga kasi kayo, e." I tried to sound nice as possible as I can but they just threw me a glance and continued talking. What the fuck? "Miss—"

"Can you stop bothering us?" The girl with a russet short hair sharply talked back.

Wow.

Tangina, wow.

Relax, Joshan. Relax!

I almost jumped when there's a girl who advanced from my back and tried to get the attention of the russet girl. "Can you just continue your nonsense talk later, Arish? Marami naman tayong vacants mamaya kasi unang araw pa lang."

The girl beside the so-called-Arish raised her eyebrow. "'Yon na nga, Raena. It's the first day! In-expect niyo na sanang maraming mag-uusap ng ganito like today, considering that it's been so long since everyone saw each other!" The girl has a curly blonde-dyed hair. I'm not sure what her original color is, if it's brown or black, but I'm sure it's not blonde— based on her roots.

"And that's what, miss." I mimicked her. "It's the fucking first day! Meaning, meron kayong isang buong taon para mag-usap!" I smirked at them. "At hindi naman tungkol sa vacation niyo 'yong pinag-uusapan niyo. You're both squealing about a guy! Dinadagdagan niyo 'yong init dahil lang sa kalandian?"

Sinamaan nila kaming dalawa ng tingin, obviously pissed. "Bitch." I heard the curly one uttered before walking towards the front of the line.

I looked at her back with disgust.

She didn't just use one of my favorite word with a low-class mouth!

"Hey." Almost forgot about her.

"Hey." I greeted back with a smile.

"I'm Raena Montero." Inalok niya 'yong palad niya, highly possible for a handshake.

I accepted it while smiling brightly. "Joshan Miranda."

"Mukhang nainis ka na kaagad sa dalawang 'yon." Natatawang sabi niya.
