The Song Of The Lost Traveler

There's a story about a lonely traveler

His name now hidden under stones and rain

Brought songs of fire, ash and thorn

Tales of bane, old times of pain

Cranes fly through the clear sky

People watch and recall his songs

"Lonely gods, oh lonely gods"

They lived and died, they slain and die

Lonely gods so lonely songs

"How could they be gone now"

Like stones and rain hitting the ground

The thoughts of them hits my mind

Lovely gods so lonely and drow

Some scream, some cry

"After all we die"

We perish and rot, still dead

We're not

Lonely gods, holy but cursed

Hopelessly fighting to sing his songs

Turned into mist and rain

Like stones that hit the ground

"The flames of his memory burn around"

Hurting souls oh crying souls

Beware now, they're near

"Beware now, and fear"

Story/POV: (This is a kind of story or song inside my current project) A ballad that narrates a myth within my story tells the story of a mighty traveler and the curse that the gods left behind to the world. It would make more sense if I had the finished piece along with it. It's like the story within a story about a bard that somehow had something to do with the curse of the gods telled by another bard.
