Patience is often considered a virtue.
When necessary, even if it costs them everything, one will wait. They will beg and cry and pray, but they will wait. For rescue, for amends, for solvency.
However, those who do not wish to exercise such a virtue—who have already given whatever they had to offer, who cannot weather any further suffering—will act.
Their motivation varies. Loss, justice, regret, anger, hatred.
