you guys ...

we did it.

from Rise to Fall to Climb, from July 2020 to today, i can officially say, The End.

we have hit a grand total of 548,346 words, 980 google doc pages, and well over 1 million reads. i am so incredibly, immeasurably, inexplicably grateful for all of you.

this writing and you all, my dear readers, hold a very special place in my heart.

we've had some rough patches. i've been very frustrated with some people and i'm sure you all have also been very frustrated with me. but despite it all, we made it through. i am so lucky to have had this community at my side. i say it a lot, because i mean it: your support is the world and more.

all things must end. however, i am not entirely done with this series just yet.

Rise is still undergoing final edits, as is Fall. this will happen fairly sporadically around my schedule as I aim to make my writing as cohesive and consistent as possible. when those edits are complete, i will notify all of you. a few people reached out to me in the past asking for my permission to print these stories so they could keep physical copies to self-bind or even annotate! i am so glad my work is that appreciated, which is why i want it to be the best it possibly can be before i provide my consent. separate notices will be published on each book when edits are finished and i approve readers to print copies of this story for themselves.

until then, please feel free to reach out! i love chatting with you all, so my profile is always open for messages and my comment sections always open for questions.

i'm struggling to believe that i have to stop typing soon. but i do want to share why this matters so much.

this story has been a labor of love and a major emotional outlet for me. it was far more than my admiration for Rick's characters and his worldbuilding — it was about the beauty i see in people. the nuance of the lives which are unique to us all, but which also intersect and intertwine. me and you and the rest of the world: we have our own stories, but they are not purely our own.

if there is anything i wish to stay with you, it is that we are made to do what we can to shine light in the darkness, spread peace amidst chaos, and share hope despite despair — because we are not here to live solely for ourselves. we are here to help each other, and to learn from them, too.

within each chapter, i have tried to imbue my experience and my lessons, my hopes and my failings, with as much care as i am able. i grew with this story, and i truly do not think i can grow away from it. i have tried to make it as real and raw and human as i am.

while still, at the end of the day, a piece of fanfiction, this story has become part of me, influenced and crafted by everything i am.

so thank you — for putting your faith in me, for so diligently following along with my writing, for dealing with my hiatuses and inconsistency, for being kind and supportive throughout the entire stretch of this journey.

for everything.

xx
