"Do you think that this—?"
"No," (Y/N) interrupts Grover's question, shaking her head as Thalia looks at her with curiosity. "Absolutely not."
"How do you know that?" Grover asks, and Annabeth's eyes flood with worry.
"He's got a point," the daughter of Athena chimes in, glancing at Percy. "We can't be certain of anything."
"Yes, we can," (Y/N) says, looking between her friends, "because we're not going through that again. I'll personally make sure of it if I have to."
Thalia's brows furrow and she stammers, "Sorry, what- what are we talking about?" In response, Chiron looks to (Y/N), who smiles reassuringly at the daughter of Zeus.
"We'll fill you in later. For right now, though, it's best that you get settled and checked out by one of our healers. Come on," she gently tugs at Thalia's arm, and Annabeth helps to guide their friend into the camp with Percy, Grover, and Chiron following just behind. Forcing down the lump in her throat, (Y/N) pushes away all the frantic thoughts that race through her head.
Thalia could easily have been the half-blood spoken about in the prophecy. No one said it had to be Percy—merely a half-blood born of the greatest gods.
And if their quest hadn't been successful, that would mean that (Y/N) would have to fall again, that the gods would have to find another way to defeat Kronos, that her friends would have fought and lost and suffered for nothing.
Her jaw clenching, she gives her head a tiny shake, as if to shake away the doubt. That wasn't going to happen. They weren't fighting any more battles for the gods.
Thalia gives the daughter of Persephone a concerned side glance, but she refrains from asking any questions. Her brow furrows at the Big House, her lips pursed in confusion as her friends guide her around the side to the infirmary.
"Thalia, this is Will," (Y/N) introduces, waving the son of Apollo over. "He's our main healer here at camp. Will, this is Thalia. The Fleece brought her back, and we just wanna make sure that she's all good."
Will grins, waving. Thalia's head cocks as she looks the boy up and down. "How . . . how old are you?" she asks, and Will chuckles.
"Fifteen," he answers, his eyes glimmering with amusement at Thalia's apparent surprise. "I'm a son of Apollo, so I don't really need . . . full qualifications."
The daughter of Zeus nods, flabbergasted. (Y/N) pats her shoulder, a light smile on her lips. "If it's any reassurance, he has more than enough experience after tending to me many, many times."
"Yeah, so many times that it's probably a record," Will jokes, his eyebrow quirking at the girl. Thalia laughs, relaxing. Annabeth and (Y/N) ease their support, keeping wary eyes on her as she steadies herself before sitting on the edge of an available bed to be examined by Will.
The son of Apollo shoos them out of his working space, so (Y/N) and Annabeth move to leave before physically crashing into Percy, Grover, and Chiron.
Rubbing the back of his neck, Percy averts his gaze from (Y/N)'s. "Um, I'll just leave you guys here to fill her in on everything." Annabeth nods, and Grover's eyes flit skeptically between Percy and (Y/N), his brows furrowing. He remains silent, however, while clapping Percy on the shoulder before the boy leaves the infirmary.
