I felt a tapping on my forehead. I groaned and fluttered open my eyes. Mrs. Hannigan was standing over me. "It's time for breakfast Annette. I've been yelling for you. It's your turn too clean the table." I closed my eyes once i started hearing the clip clip of her stalking off in her 2 inch high heels. I heard her scream my name and I decides I had to get up. I threw off the covers and stripped out of my sleep wear and into my uniform. It was a white collared shirt with the orphanage logo in the top right corner, a black and white polka dot skirt, white tights and black shoes. I ran into the bathroom, brushed my teeth, and put my hair in a required French braid. I ran to the table and gobbled up the cold cereal at my assigned spot. I started to pick up all the bowls and take them to the kitchen. I set them next to the sink and then ran into my room. I jumped onto my bed and concentrated on the glass of water on the dresser. It slowly started to sway. Then little droplets came out of it and landed on the floor. Mrs. Hannigan swung open the door. I grabbed a book on my bed and pretended to read it. "Annette," she said. "You've been adopted."
