"Are you serious?" Luz was overwhelmed by emotions because she had just found out that she could contact her mother. "Amity! I can't believe it! How did you find this out?" She was jumping all around the Owl House front room in joy. Amity couldn't help but smile.

"I have my ways~" Amity gives a thumbs up. She learned about how to give a 'thumbs up' yesterday. Now, whenever she gets a chance she takes it.

Luz immediately called her mother. It's only took 2 seconds for her to answer. She put it on speaker.

"Mom!"

"Luz! I'm so happy to hear your voice! I've missed you so much! Are you okay? Are you doing well?" She quickly asked every question in the book.

"Mom slow down! I'm okay...MORE than okay! I finally get to speak to you!" She giggled.

"Let me try to FaceTime you, I want to see you." And it worked.

Camila started to cry.

She looked so grown up. It's been a whole year since they've seen each others face. Vee came up to say 'hi' to Luz.

"Mom, I want to introduce you to someone." She angled the phone so Camila could see both Luz and Amity.

"Oh! Who's this?" She asked.

"This is Amity...she my...girlfriend." Luz mumbled that last part but judging by Camilas smirk, she heard it. Amity turned a deep red but kept her cool.

"It's nice to meet you Mrs. Noceda" Amity managed to get out. Camila responded by saying 'it's nice to meet you too'. Luz and Amity continued to talk to her until 2 hours passed by. Camila was now aware of what was going on and how they are still trying to build a properly functioning portal. She took it surprising well. She still had questions but she didn't bother asking them. She's have to save them until later.

Eda and King came home later. Luz introduced them and King got so excited. Camila was a little weirded out by Hooty, but then again, sent we all?

It was getting late and they were all tired. "Mija, it's getting late. I can tell your exhausted. I'll call you tomorrow, how about that? You can tell me more about what's happening. Why not start from the beginning?" Luz nodded. They said their goodbyes and hung up the phone.

Amity stayed the night. Luz couldn't stop thanking her for the opportunity she gave her.

The next day, as soon a Luz woke up she called her mom. For some reason, nothing would work. Luz got scared. Her anxiety increased. Was that my only chance to talk to her? She woke up Amity and she too did not know what the problem was. They went to the living room where they first called. Hoping for better service.

Nothing

"I'm sorry...I don't know what to do" Amity said. Luz comforted her saying how it's not her fault. They got lucky the first time. The truth was, Amity had no idea the phone would even work. That was probably the only time this would.

And it was.
