Chapter 21 - 71 days. 14 hours. 54 minutes. 11 seconds

Isac's POV

Waiting

Waiting to find out if the girl of my dreams would wake up .

If I could see that beautiful smile ever again , or hear that high pitched giggle coming out of those kissable lips .

I bowed my head down and felt another wave of tears come through . That familiar lump started building up in my throat again .

"It's ok to cry , " I heard Dad say .

"No , I have to stay strong for her , " I replied shaking my head . "She has to wake up , "

"And she will Isac , Jasmines a strong girl she won't go that easily , " He replied , putting his arms around me .

A pang of déjà vu hit me , like a tsunami wave .

*****Flashback*****

7 year old Isac

"Dad?" I asked

"Yeah , " He replied .

"Will it hurt ? " I asked .

"What ?" He asked.

"The cast , " I said looking at him .

I looked down at my Brocken hand and felt another shot of pain go through my hand .

Skateboarding was a pretty dangerous sport I guess . But I guess the trick did pay of ....

I blinked back the tears .

Big boys don't cry .

"No it won't " He replied chuckling . "does it still hurt ? "

I nodded wanting the pain to stop .

"You know , you can cry ," He said . "It's ok to cry when it hurts , "

I looked up at him and smiled tearfully.

"Are they going to take it off ?" I asked pointing to the plastic thing on my arm . "Because you don't have yours , " .

"No , " He replied taking a deep breath . " that's you timer Isac , that won't come out until you meet that special someone . "

I guess i must of made a face , but throughout the whole hospital visit , Dad told me about the "timer" and the" soul mate" .

*****Flashback Ended*****

"It's funny , feels like only yesterday you were a 7 year old waiting for a cast , knowing nothing about your timer ," He said sounding old .

"Feels like yesterday , " I said sighing .

"Yet know were waiting for your soul mate , " He added sadly .

I looked away biting my lip .

"ISAC !" I turned around and saw 5 worried faces .

"Where is she ? " Julia called out running towards me .

"Where the hell is jasmine !" She said grabbing my collar .

"THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT !" She screamed tears pouring down her face .

Alex grabbed her and pulled her close . He rocked her back and forth and whispered into her ear .

I got up quickly and walked towards the door .

I watched as the doctors surrounded the bed .

I felt my heart drop to my feet as I saw the pale faced jasmine . Her hair was all over the place and the doctors were still working on her .

"Come on , Come on , wake up , please , " I said closing my eye .

For a split second I felt like everything was going to ok , that she was going to wake up with that smile plastered to her face .

I opened my eyes and was met with the pale jasmine .

I felt like punching something .

"Dude ... " Lasse started saying .

"Fuck of Lasse , " I muttered .

I watched the heart monitor suddenly drop .

"No," I mumbled .

The heart monitor dropped even lower .

"No , No , don't do this , "I mumbled louder .

Jasmine's eyes flashed open .

Her blue eyes were now completely white .

She jolted up right and started coughing .

Then I saw it .

With every cough , scarlet blood came out .

"NO!" I screamed .

I ran into the room .

I pushed past all the doctors and nurses and charged myself at her .

I grabbed jasmines' head and held it tightly .

" Jasmine , WAKE UP , wake up now , show me that smile , " I said loudly .

Her hands traveled up to my cheek , She was frantically looking everywhere .

"SON , YOU SHOULDN'T BE HERE!" The doctor shouted lunging himself at me .

He grabbed me and I tried pulling away .

"JASMINE !" I screamed .

I watched in slow motion as her eyes shut again and she fell back limply into the bed . The heart monitor started beeping even harder , and then suddenly stopped .

They pushed me out the room , and I landed in a heap onto the floor .

I cured myself into a ball as everyone surrounded themselves around me .

" ISAC !" I could hear people shouting my name .

I rocked back and forth .

"PLEASE ISAC !" I heard the shouting continuing .

I got up slowly and blanked out .

Then silence .

I looked up and saw the doctor standing there in front of us .

Everyone looked so hopeful , so eager , so excited .

And it took 4 words to destroy their hopeful faces.

"I am so sorry , " The doctor said .

I felt my legs give in as , I collapsed to the floor .
