After we got home, John was a bit drunk so jack and I had to assist him to bed.

What makes me weird
Is what makes others normal

I need a new demons
The past ones have befriended me

I tried to hide my demons
But they keep crawling out

Morning star, Night sun, My Happiness, these are contradicting words.

I jot these different lines I just came up with, in one of my notebooks.

The next day, I woke up having a strong headache, I have not stretched my head this long for a while now.

I decided to go to a coffee shop nearby to get coffee before going to school.

"Hello, can you get me one too, I can't stand up from this God's forsaken bed," John said.

"Okay No problem, but at least take your bath before I come back," I replied.

"I will just go, go, go..." John said in a faint tone.

Jack laughed hard as he comes out of the bathroom.

"I told you not to drink much when you have classes today, but you never listened," Jack said.

"And better get something tangible for my little sister," He added.

Today is her birthday, but what I'm confused about is how calm Jack is that his sister is dating someone like John.

I remembered Jack saying he was furious at first but this is college, he has to allow her to do what she likes while protecting her and if John makes her happy, he won't be a barrier to her happiness.

Later on, I went to the coffee shop and get two cups of coffee.

We drank it and get to school together.

I decided to stay longer in school to fill out my clearance form and complete my medicals.

There I saw some group of boys and girls, I knew they probably would be freshmen because most are acting naive and trying to adapt to the environment.

I decided to start a conversation with a boy sitting close to me.

Just then, my father's last word before bidding me farewell struck me like lighting, "be friendly".

"Hi, I'm new here and my name is..."

"Khalid," he quickly cut in.

"Have we met before? how did you know my name?" I asked surprised.

"It is in your clearance form beside you know it is placed on the screen over there for us to know our seat number and position," he replied smiling and pointing at the big notice screen.

For God's sake, I felt stupid for wanting to say my name, I had already started to regret this conversation.

"I too, I'm a freshman, where are you from?" he said looking straight into my eye like a vampire who want to compel me.

"I'm from LA," I replied bringing my eyes down.

"You seem timid, are you the last born?"

"Yes, I am."

"I knew, so am i."

"Next!!," A lady shouted from inside the clearance office.

"Nice talking to you, my name is...
You can check the screen, my number is before yours," he teased me as he walked inside the clearance office.

I felt a sigh of relief as he left.

After my clearance, I went home.

* * *

When I got home, I met an empty house, it seem jack and john are not around.

I went straight to my bed, and plug my earpiece into my PC.

"Pop pop pop," is the sound I heard coming from the kitchen.

Just before I could rush there to check who or what it was.

I saw Rebecca coming out of the kitchen, she said in her sweet voice, "Oh!, you are here, when did you enter?"

"Not too long ago, where are your brother and John and how did you get in?"

"My boyfriend gave me a spare key," she said making emphasis on the boyfriend.

"My brother is staying at his friend's place today, they are having a reading nightclub together."

"And my boyfriend, he is getting me a surprise that is why I am here." She explained smiling as she stared at me.

"Okay, today is even your birthday."

"Happy birthday miss," I said trying to escape the awkward moment.

"Thank you," she replied as she lie down in John's bed as though she knew it was his.

I lie down at mine with my head facing the other direction as I continue with the music I was about to play.

"Which song are you listening to," her words broke the silence that filled the room for some minutes now.

"Ed Sheeran - Supermarket flowers."

"Wow I love Ed Sheeran, never listen to that song though," she said readjusting toward my bed space.

I remove the earpiece as we listened to the song together.

"John and I used to listen to music together almost every week."

"Where did you guys meet?" I asked.

"We went to the same high school,
He used to be the king of boys then," she said almost laughing as she played with her hair.

"Can I tell you something?" I asked her.

"Mm-hmm," she nodded her head smiling.

"I know you must have heard this a billion times, let me make it a billion and one."

"Like the saying, one in a billion is the charm," I said watching her blush.

"Your smile can ignite even the darkest forest and make it look like paradise."

"You know what happened to the last boy who flirt with me?"

"John hang him on the basketball court and left him there for an hour," she said softly.

"Should I be afraid," I asked as calmly as I could.

"No!!" She replied.

"Can I tell you mine?" something like my secret she said with a direct face.

"You are different you know, Besides I do admire you, I've been asking my brother about you lately, you are special and weird you know."

"Write me a romantic poem as my birthday gift," she concludes drawing nearer to me as she playfully pats my arms.

"I don't do romantic, that isn't my genre."

"Please!!!, for me" she pleaded.

"Okay, I will try," I muttered.

As I raised my head, I notice John has been standing there for a while now.
