Kaneki's P.O.V

"What does the owl want with her?" I aks Ayato, but I keep my eyes on (y/n). The real question I wanted to ask was how he knew her, but I can't ask that... can I?

Out of the corner of my eye I see Ayato shrug, "all I know is that he wants her, and wants her fast," Ayato turns to me, "now I want to ask you something," I turn to face him.

"Hmm?" I ask.

"How do you know (y/n)?" I stiffen at his question. How does he know that I knew her?! "And don't play dumb I'm not stupid. I saw her looking at you before she kicked me in the gut, it was like she was deciding if you knew you or not, and I'm sure she does know you by the expression she had on her face," he points out.

I shrug and turn back to (y/n), looking at her through the bars while she slep on what looked like a uncomfortable bed, "we met when I was human, and I guess we were a couple."

Even though I feel Ayato staring at me I don't turn around, "how do you know, and more importantly how do you know she's a ghoul?"

Ayato smiles, "you'll find out in all good time, Kaneki, anyway, I'm going to see owl, bring her down when she wakes up," and with that he's gone. I shake my head and look back at (y/n). She seems different than she was two years ago. She seems stronger.

I lean back on the wall behind me and continue to look at her. I wonder. I just wonder. About her.

Readers P.O.V

You slowly open your eyes and find yourself staring at a rather dirty white ceiling. You sign as you prop yourself up and look around.

You weren't in your apartment at home with Touka. No. You knew where you were. You were in your worst nightmare. Aogiri Tree. You head is suddenly hit with memories of this place, but you shake them away. They were rocks better off unturned.

You slowly grab your knees to your chest and sign, "so it wasn't a dream," you say out loud, "Kaneki..... and Ayato..... I've seen them again," you tuck a strand of your (h/c)(h/l) behind your ears. It was no longer in a pony tail, so you guessed it had come out when you were being kidnapped. You grit your teeth at the memory. What you wanted to know was why you were here. What the one eyed king wanted with you.

As you think about this you don't hear the door to your 'cell' open.

"Excuse me?" A voice rings out, echoing around the cell. That voice. You snap your head around and see Kaneki standing there awkwardly. Just watching his body expression you could tell something was on his mind. You had known him too long so he couldn't hide anything from you.

You stand up oppersite him as you both stare at each other, "hello," you finally say after what seems like forever.

"Sup," he says awkwardly, and you can't help but smile at his awkwardness. I mean, come on! It was cute.

"So is kidnapping people your new hobby," you say, suddenly defensive. You watch Kaneki's body tense up, "well?" you ask, taking a step forward, not breaking eye contact. You wanted answers. And you wanted them now. And he just shrugs.

"I guess I'm just selfish," he admits and you raise your eyebrows at him, waiting for a explanation, "I could have chosen not to be apart of your kidnapping, but I guess I just missed you too much." At this, you feel yourself tearing up. It suddenly hit you. Standing before you was the man you loved. The one you missed so much you've cried buckets, and spent most of your time wondering where the hell he couold be.
