Marinette stiffened as Sandboy threw a fistful of glittery sand at her. He paused, about to be on his merry way, when nothing happened.

"Hey, what's wrong with you? I don't think I've seen you yet tonight, where is your nightmare?" Sandboy eyed her, resentful but mostly curious.

"You hit me with the dust earlier, Sandboy. I'm hiding from my nightmare here. Please, if you see any giant spiders, make sure they don't come in here!" Marinette put the back of her hand on her forehead, taking on a "woe is me" pose and a pleading expression.

"Spiders? What a lame fear," Sandboy laughed, "I'll leave you to your pathetic hiding spot, then. If all you're afraid of is spiders, you must have a pretty easy life." He glared down at her, quite unimpressed.

"What are you afraid of, Sandboy?" Marinette restrained any snappy comebacks and tried to hurry him along.

"Nunya." He crossed his arms.

"Oh, really? I suppose it would make sense to not be afraid of anything with how brave you are, avoiding the heroes and everything." Marinette crossed her arms as well, raising a brow.

"Really? Thanks!" Sandboy gave a toothy smile, the remark soaring right over his head. "Bye bye, spider girl!" He flew off on his pillow, humming to himself and beginning his chant once again.

Marinette giggled after he was gone, "Did you hear that, Tikki? He certainly isn't one of the brightest akumas we've encountered!"

Tikki chuckled along with her, nodding to signify her agreement. "Certainly not. Shall we get this show on the road?"

Marinette nodded, "Yeah, I-"

She hadn't even finished her reply when she was interrupted yet again. This time, however, it was a much more menacing force.

"My Lady? I've been looking all over for you! Don't tell me you've gotten cold feet, My love?" Chat Blanc cocked his head to the side, a tentative expression on his face as he questioned her. When Marinette didn't reply, he stormed forward, grabbing her wrist with one hand and holding a cataclysm in the other. "LETS SEE HOW COLD YOU GET WHEN I KILL YOU ALL OVER AGAIN!"

Marinette ripped herself from his grasp and fled from the alleyway, taking numerous lefts and rights before crashing into the chest of the one and only Chat Noir.

"Marinette? What are you doing out here?" Chat Noir looked down at his clumsy raven-haired friend.

She barely gave him a response, looking up at him with wild eyes and tears pricking her gaze. "I- he-," she gasped for air, hunching over and clawing at her chest. She kept wheezing and stared at the ground,  it was as if she couldn't breathe.

"Marinette?! You need to tell me what's wrong. What's going on? How can I help you?" Chat Noir grew anxious, concern weighing in his chest as he placed his hands on her shoulders. "Marinette, listen, please. I- I need you to calm down, I can't help you if I don't know what's wrong."

She slowed her breathing a little, but still seemed too shaken to speak. Marinette rested her forehead on his chest, crossing her arms over herself and letting out a small sniffle.
