September 16th, 1882

Things have been crazy since my last journal. I don't really even know how to explain besides we got invaded by the military who couldn't give my mom answers as to why they were taking her four sons. I saw this coming, my mother ignored any rumor and the truth. My oldest brother the one that leaves and ships months at a time tried telling them he can't just abandon his job and family. He was told you'll be paid in time and can provide for his family that way. It was sad. It happened so fast that my mother and I couldn't respond or think. They said it was just for caution if the war were to proceed. We all knew because of the papers that it already has gone forward. It was only a matter of time before no men were left in the town and things were quiet and families were desperate for food and comfort.

War happens and a town slowly dies.

Goodnight.
