Chapter 6:

After the boys and I finish our dinner, we run back into the living room to watch a movie.

“What do you guys wanna watch?” Liam asks us, crouching down by the collection of DVDs in the cabinet that holds the TV. There’s got to be one hundred DVDs in there.

“A horror film!” Louis yells.

“Oh… I don’t know about that,” I say with a nervous laugh.

“It’ll be fun love, I’ll protect you,” Niall says with a smile. I lean into him, and he puts his arm around my shoulders.

“Awww is someone scared?” Harry teases me with a wink. I’m not afraid of much, but horror movies really freak me out sometimes.

“Shut up, Styles,” I say back to him. He only grins wider.

We agree on The Woman in Black, which I approve of only because Daniel Radcliffe is in it. The movie has just started and I can feel my heart pounding in my chest. Every second my heart beats harder and harder, and I hope the boys can’t hear it.

The movie continues on, and I’m proud of myself for making it this far without screaming. When I get scared, I just bury my head in Niall’s chest. He rubs my hair and holds me tight. Every time ‘the woman in black’ appears on screen, Louis lets out a high pitched dramatic scream and Niall and Harry laugh. Zayn casually rests his elbow on the couch’s armrest, and Liam leans forward, anxiously staring at the TV screen. Harry and Louis laugh in all the wrong parts, which is especially funny, considering it’s a horror movie, and not many parts are funny. Niall and I laugh along with them.

As soon as the movie’s over, Niall stands up and pops the DVD out of the player. I lay where he was sitting and smile at him. He comes over and scoops me up in his arms. He starts to walk down the hallway towards his room.

“Where ya goin, Ni? Brining her to your room?” Harry shouts.

Niall ignores him and brings me into his own room. He closes the door and sets me down on the bed. His room is white, with a couple band posters, and soccer posters. He has a desk with a Mac computer on it, and a guitar in the corner of the room. A pile of clothes sits on the left side of the bed. The room smells good, like him, a light trace of Axe.

He shoves the pile of clothes on the ground, and I laugh. “You can stay in here tonight, we haven’t set up the guest room yet,” Niall says.

“Where will you sleep?”

“I’ll take the couch. Night, love,” He smiles and closes the door.

I pull myself under the covers, and gather them around my face. I put my head down on his pillow and inhale his scent. I’m singing Niall’s part in ‘Little Things’ as I fall asleep.

I wake up in the morning to the light shining through the window, and dancing across Niall’s green sheets. His room is so cozy and warm. I get out of bed and leave it unmade. I never make my bed, and I doubt Niall does either.

When I walk down the hall to the living room, I can hear the boys are talking in hushed voices. I walk a little closer, hiding behind the wall that separates the hall from the living room.

From this angle, I can see the back of Harry, Lou, and Niall’s heads. Liam faces me, and he’s drinking a cup of tea. Zayn must be in the kitchen cooking something up, because I can smell eggs.

“Come on Nialler, we can tell you fancy her,” Harry says.

“Harry, I don’t,” Niall responds halfheartedly. Her?

“Niall looooooves her,” Louis sings.

“Shhh,” Niall says. Liam just laughs. Are they talking about…me?

“Well, you better ask her out before I do,” Harry says.

“Or me,” Louis says.

“You’ve got Eleanor, you bastard!” Harry says with a laugh.

“I know, I know.”

They’re silent for a couple minutes after that, just watching TV. Spongebob is on. I take this moment to walk in before they start talking about me again. “Hey guys,” I say sitting down on the couch between Harry and Lou. “What’s up?”

Harry quickly glances at Niall and then back to me. “Nothing much, love. Zayn’s making some breakfast, and we’ve got something to tell you.” My heartbeat pounds in my chest. Are they going to tell me what they were just talking about?

We all pull ourselves up to the table; Zayn’s made omelets. I bite into mine and smile. “This is great, Zayn,” I tell him. Niall’s already finished his, and he tries stealing a piece of bacon from Louis, but Louis just smacks him.

“So,” Liam starts. “The boys and I, have got news.”

“We’ve got a concert tonight!” Zayn says excitedly.

“And you,” Harry smiles. “Have got backstage/VIP passes. And front row seats!”

I cover my mouth to contain my scream. I promised myself not to fan girl in front of them. Especially not now. I have a feeling I’m gonna be doing a lot of celebrity things with them. “Guys, this is great! I’m so excited!”

“Great!” Liam smiles broadly.

“So what are we doing in the meantime…?” I ask.

“Well, as a matter of fact,” Louis started, chewing with his mouth wide open as he talked. “The lads and I, we figured we’d take you out for a nice day of fun.”

I smile and glance at Harry, who is grinning cheekily. “How bout a day of shopping, love? I bet you didn’t pack enough clothes for the time you’ll be here.”

“I beg to differ, did you lift her bags?!” Niall says teasingly.

Zayn’s the last to finish his breakfast, and the other boys are already changed out of their pajamas. They now lounge around lazily, waiting to leave. I run into my room to change, excited to go shopping with the boys. I change into a pair of skinny jeans and a denim shirt. I throw on my red dot TOMS and head back out to the living room to find the guys waiting for me.

“Well, love, you ready?” Liam asks when he sees me.

“Of course,” I smile.

“Well then let’s go!” Lou says with a whoop, as we run out the door to the van.
