Kaitou Joker - Into the Past

Chapter 7

(Having a sort of Phoenix POV right now :D- Also serving as answering a question I laid out or hinted in)

Everyone was silently doing something to distract themselves. They didn't want to admit it, but they didn't want to just leave and not help the kingdom in their current predicament. But, as everyone knows by now, changing the past will certainly change the future.

Phoenix pondered over the Sigma Drive, preparing to return to their current timeline. He couldn't help but be... nervous? The term humans use, right? Yeah, Blue kept on saying he was always nervous.

Speaking of Blue, Phoenix couldn't believe how he got to be friends with Blue. He only thought that Joker was enough. That Joker and Hachi and Acrux are what he call "family". He never knew his family here on Earth would grow even more.

Like how Shadow protects Rose, Phoenix always makes sure to protect Blue whenever he can.

He also started getting quite close with Shadow and Lupin. Rose as well. They were all different in many ways. But similar too.

Dump was a bit more distant, I mean, they hardly even talk. But just being beside each other comforts Phoenix knowing that they had mutual understanding with one another.

Phoenix also remembers Rei and Spider Ace. He wonders where they are... Probably still cleaning Shadow's castle. With Roko and Hosshi staying there too.

And even if Spade, Queen, Ai, Hyakkimaru and Kira were on the other team, Phoenix still cared for them.

Now, Phoenix has a family. Not blood related. But still, a family. His family. And he'd do anything to protect them.

I guess that's why he is so nervous. So nervous to mess up. So nervous to do one mistake that could be the start of their family being broken to pieces beyond repair. He knows that Joker, Spade and Queen grew up together. Those three were inseparable. Until lately. Until Joker stole the Revi Necklace. Everything went down to shambles.

Phoenix decided upon himself that he would make sure to protect and repair the family he now has. No matter what it takes.

Finally after some more silence, Phoenix finished encoding the Sigma Drive. "I'm finished. Let's all head home now." he said. Joker smiled. Not the smile Phoenix was familiar with. Joker used to smile so brightly. So mischievously. So full of emotion and life. Now, all Phoenix could see was Joker smiling to reassure everyone that he was okay. That he wasn't shaken with the current circumstance. A smile to hide the sadness the Kaitou couldn't show.

"Then what are we waiting for?" Joker asked as he stretched his arms. "Well, we should get moving immediately. Before someone else finds us." Shadow said. Lupin took one final sip of his tea and smiled. "I believe we have enough information to guide us through for now." he said.

Spade thought he was right. But he wasn't. Joker didn't just reappear in the Sky Joker. He should have known. When one travels through time, and goes to a different location, and time travels back to the present, of course they would end up somewhere else.

"I should have listened to my gut. Now we have to fly across the sea to get to him in time. Which would take an hour and a half. Let's just hope that Joker and his company won't leave so soon." Spade said to everyone. Queen nodded her head, who was just listening to the whole conversation. She didn't want to say anything right now. Because something is wrong. Real wrong. She can sense it. Sense that something is out of place. That there is something everyone is missing.
