Kaitou Joker - Into the Past

Chapter 9

Joker looked at Spade. And Spade looked at Joker. Everything felt... wrong. Why would Spade be the most angriest at Joker? Shouldn't it be Hachi? Apparently it became easier to see the situation now that Joker was pushing aside the big amount of regret. Spade's actions seem so distant to the Spade he knew.

"Spade- we can settle this in a more calm and professional manner." Joker said, as his hand hovered over his watch. "There is no way we can settle this in a professional manner, Joker. Just hand over the necklace and the Butler's Prison." Spade said. That line alone surprised a few. "Why do you need those?" Lupin asked, pointing his cane at Spade and the others. "That is none of your business." Spade snapped back. "It sort of is our business." Dump replied, glaring at Spade. "What even is going on in you brain, King?" he asked. Queen raised her sword in retaliation. "It doesn't concern any of you. So, kindly put down your weapons or else." she said. "You put down yours." Lupin said.

Shadow looked at his friends, then at Joker. It was like they were communicating with each other with their minds. Shadow nodded his head as Joker looked back at the others. "I'm sorry, alright? I didn't mean to make you all upset- and I didn't mean to hurt anyone- both physically and emotionally." Joker said, sadness in his eyes.

"We don't buy your act Joker." Kira said. "We won't be fooled anymore." she continued, as she lifted her mic. Hachi brought out some of his ninja stars, as well as Hyakkimaru. Though it was noticeable on how hesitant Hyakkimaru was. Captain Blue looked extremely scared- I mean, who wouldn't be scared over the fact that their friends are all raising their weapons at each other? Shadow looked at Rose, giving her a faint nod.

"Now Rose!" Shadow shouted. Rose immediately closed her eyes and time was paused. Well, the time of their other friends were paused.

"That was a close call." Phoenix said, sighing. "Yes it was." Lupin said. "I called the Sky Joker already." Joker said.  "We should get going after all." he continued.

The group climbed onto the Sky Joker and flew a bit before Rose un paused time. They never saw what were Spade and the others reactions. But they deducted that they were pissed.

They all settled in and were all fast asleep by then. But Shadow couldn't sleep. He looked for his sister, Rose, and surprisingly saw her on the balcony of the Sky Joker.

"The night is pretty, isn't it?" She said. "It is." Shadow said, joining his sister.

"I thought I- wouldn't like the night. Because its dark. Because darkness was the only thing I saw for years. Until I woke up." Rose said. "But... because of the stars. It makes the night- it makes the dark not so scary. It helped me appreciate the night more." she said. "Yes. That's true. Just like life." Shadow commented. "Life, oni-chan?" Rose asked. "Yes. Like life." Shadow replied.

"In Life, there would always be stars that would shine. That would make our life more brighter." Shadow said.  "I see. I'm happy to have you as one of my stars in my life, Oni-chan!" Rose said smiling. Shadow smiled back and couldn't help but hug his sister. Like what Rose said. Shadow is one of Rose's stars. And Rose is one of Shadow's stars. 

All Shadow hopes for is for Rose to continue shining.
