dodam ft. asahi eventually asadodam end game - angst, cringe school drama
Reality betrays Asahi's thought of stability in their circle. Every day, a part of him died inside to the constant sight of a stubborn possessive Doyoung and a helplessly tired Yedam.
"Hey fellas, guess who's throwing a party~" The base welcomes the familiar voice belonging to Jeongwoo, who enters with packs of sodas. Asahi moves his head to see the younger immediately being surrounded by Junghwan and Haruto.
He smiles at the sight before it falls when Jeongwoo's sharp eyes notice the absence of a particular person. The air suddenly feels thick. "Oh, where's Yedamie-Hyung? I swear I sent a meeting discussion message to the group chat, right?"
Asahi never feels panic when he sees Jeongwoo quickly getting his phone in contrast to Doyoung's harsh but quiet sigh. Come on, come up with an excuse! "Yedam says he has something urgent so he couldn't join us." His breathing must've been too loud because now the entire base is looking at him with worry visible in their eyes.
"Oukayy.." Jeongwoo awkwardly says as he puts back his stuff carefully. Everyone is so silent that the fall of a needle and the thumping heart rate of Asahi can be heard. Doyoung leaves the place regardless and Asahi couldn't help but follow him, not caring about the intrusive eyes.
He knows they don't mean it in a bad way, just concerned. Nobody knew except him. The burden was too much for him to handle alone, but for the moment is best to go through it with a zip lock mouth.
"Good morning Asahi-Hyung! Are you ready for the upcoming Chemistry test?" The mentioned name groans a yawn when he felt a poke on his elbow by his friend, Doyoung. It's seven in the morning and their test won't start in about three hours or so.
"Leave him be, Dobby-Ah. Hyung looks like he needs sleep.." Thank you, Yedam. Asahi internally smile in gratitude that his other friend understands him. He has been staying up for the past few nights due to the kicking anxiety. Some social interaction issues, but nothing too heavy. Asahi cringes at the thought of how someone can be as energetic on a rising day. Only Doyoung relates, he guesses and settles with that, continuing to his dream.
Even with his eyes closed, Asahi can feel Doyoung forming a pout judging by the giggle Yedam lets out. The latter compliments Doyoung with a head ruffle, he assumes that works as Asahi couldn't hear the usual following complaints. Oh yeah, did he ever mention how whipped the boy is towards the other? Yeah, it's way too intimate much to Asahi's liking. But it's not like he minds it. Their presence is a good competence to his vibe. Asahi accept it just as they are.
"Junghwan needs one more player for the Clash Royal battle with Jeongwoo and Haruto," Doyoung says after he fishes his phone as it vibrates rapidly, signaling a generous amount of incoming messages.
"We have half an hour, I must get going to help a friend out. Oh, I'll come back with Hyungs' favorite snacks, see ya!" The system of organizing classes is a bit stupid in Asahi's most humble opinion. The grades are way far from each other and it doesn't match up with how the older classes get on the ground floor instead of the upper levels. Well, fewer stairs to take to the lazy people's pleasant satisfaction.
Asahi doesn't miss the affectionate eyes, hoping Doyoung stays instead of making his way across the school's building to get to their younger friends. But instead, Yedam says the sweetest yet cheesy farewell. "Alright, be careful on your way Dobby. Look where you're going!" To which Doyoung replies with a double thumbs-up as he leaves the classroom. Now it's just Asahi and Yedam.
Explanation and painful goodbye. Doyoung didn't even spare a glance at his other half in the airport despite Asahi having to fight with his blood, sweat, and tears in convincing the younger to tag along in accompanying Yedam.
"Doyoung, please. Do you not know how stupid I felt, begging you to go see Yedam whose now probably in America at this rate. And all you do is ignore the both of us without a thought glance of showing that you care. Is your ego being a bitch that stubborn resurfaces when you still love him—"
"Hyung, why do you care about me and Yedam's relationship so bad?! You aren't even involved in the first place.." Oh, Asahi knew Doyoung regretted the words he let out but damn he was way too exhausted to keep them all to himself anymore.
"Because I care for you both." The booming voice of Asahi struck Doyoung's heart like lightning. They stop in their tracks, immerse in listening to more of what Asahi has to say. "I loved you, ever since we step our foot at that school." A sharp inhale is taken, and Doyoung can feel his heartbeat picks up its pace.
"I hate you for being so selfish and not caring about my invisible feelings, Yedam's feelings. He must've been so scared to tell you, and you had the quickest selfish reply that you both needed break." Doyoung looks down at his shoes, watching as prickling raindrops fall on the tip of his converse. He feels guilty, everything that. Asahi says starting to come at him all at once.
"What about me?" The voice crack makes Doyoung's sight pries away from the ground to see Asahi, to see his broken state, to see the tears that are hidden within the pouring rain. He never expects to have the oldest feel their pain. Doyoung can feel the painful internal scar.
"I knew I was never the main interest in caring, but let me share my input as well. I watched you both grow and went through your highest and lowest together. Only for a single miscommunication to ruin our bond." Asahi sniffs his cry, taking pauses to have his breath stable before speaking again. He stares at Doyoung's mouth agape unsure what he should respond to the discovery. It makes Asahi helplessly angry, but nothing he can do about.
"Fine, if you don't want me involved then so be it. I wish you the best and hope you never hurt your future companions. I beg." With that, Asahi left amongst the drenching droplets. Weakly making his way to the bus stop home. Doyoung wishes he understands sooner.
Years Later. They encounter each other, well, more like Doyoung tries to make it seem as it is. Brought back all three together only to find themselves broken furthermore. "Hyung, we needed to talk."
Yedam didn't glance at Doyoung despite having the latter's hand harsh fist bump to the table counter of his workplace. He sighs. "Sir, if you're going to make a ruckus, at least do it somewhere else. Doyoung, there's nothing to talk about. We're done as you clearly stated four years ago. What changed now?"
Doyoung was going to dismiss the fact that he was called sir. Nor did he care that Yedam's voice was cold. He put a few dollars on the cashier before he ordered his usual drink back in Korea in the same store. "I'll wait until your shift is done, no matter how long it takes. I will make us talk, if it isn't for me at least do it for Asahi-Hyung. He is as important to us."
Screw that damn red-haired, he knew how to push Yedam's buttons. "Stupid," He muttered, referring to Doyoung before he went to the backroom to make the drink. "Wait outside and give me five minutes," Yedam said returning back to work. Doyoung oddly obeyed, he had to.
"God, Takata-Kun. They didn't even spare a glance at each other during Chemistry class. That was our thing for dear sake!" Asahi is seemingly on the call with his best friends, still on the same recycle topic.
"I'm so tired of this and I think my head is going to explode. No, Junkyu. They were the coward, not me. Gahh Jihoon-Hyung if you don't shut the fuc—" The sudden doorbell startled Asahi, he groans and put the phone near to his ears before it dropped when he saw the sight of two figures he never wishes to meet sooner. "Hamada-Kun, are you there?"
Experimental Smut Attempt. In where they just.. kiss to solve their problems. That escalated to a consenting friend with benefits, but is everyone really satisfied?
