Author's Note: Hopefully everyone is enjoying the story so far! Feedback is always appreciated either as a comment or a message! I just wanted to give a heads up that this story may veer off a little from the Duelist Kingdom story line, but it's all for the sake of the story. Thank you so much for all the support. Enjoy :)

I ran, I'm not sure how far or where I ended up, but the only thing that stopped my feet from going on any further was a cliff that appeared in front of me. I stared off into the horizon, my brunette hair blew in the wind and the tears ran down my face. I've lost everything. My best friend, the love of my life.. not to mention I just found out that my father is a crazy sadistic human being. I collapsed to my knees as the tears continued to flow down my face. I don't know what to do. I don't know what to think.. I don't know how long I was there, but my thoughts were interrupted by the sound of footsteps behind me. I jerked my head around and my eyes met with the amethyst eyes of Yugi, or the more grown up version of Yugi. He seemed much taller and his features were more pronounced than the normal Yugi I had just seen earlier.

"Emma.." he said softly. His eyes were filled with sympathy.

"Go away, Yugi.." I muttered through my tears. "There's nothing for you to say or do. Just leave."

"Emma, your loss isn't in vain. We will get him back."

"Are you deaf? I don't want to see you so leave!" I screamed and began to sob even heavier. I directed my gaze back to the horizon, watching as the sun set. The only beautiful sight in a dark day, but even that couldn't lift my spirit. I felt a soft hand on my shoulder as Yugi knelt beside me and pulled me into a comforting embrace. My arms found my way around his neck and pulled him closer to me as I began to cry in the crook of his neck. He began to pat my back as if he was comforting a small child.

"I lost someone too.. my grandfather was taken from me by Pegasus as well. But I will defeat him and I will save him, along with Kaiba. I promise you that, Emma."

"How can you make such a promise with nothing to go off of? He's crazy.. AND he can see everything, including the cards in your hands! He's impossible to beat. You won't win.." my words tapered off and I was faced with my reality all over again.

"Nothing is impossible." he said in his deep voice with much confidence that I couldn't understand. Everything is falling apart around me and as much as Yugi wanted to save everyone, he can't. He just can't.

He stood up and reached his hand out to me. I looked up at him and he looked back at me with a sincere smile. I took his hand and he picked me up off the ground. "I will save them, Emma. I promise."

A part of me doubted him, but a bigger part of me had faith in his words. If Yugi had faith that he could defeat Pegasus and save Seto, then I needed to stand by his side and support him. And really.. at this point, what do I have left to lose?

*****************************************

We walked back to the castle. As we approached the front door, I froze up. I don't want to face what's inside.

"Emma.." Yugi whispered. "It'll be alright, be strong."

I stared at him with fear and doubt, but his expression held confidence and keen. I acknowledged his words with a nod and we entered the domain. As we wondered through the halls leading back to the dueling arena, my thoughts remained on Seto. I never missed someone so much, except for my father as I grew up.. But we all know how that worked out. We walked back into the dueling arena, where all of our friends stood on the balcony and Pegasus who hadn't left the center of the room since I ran.
