They were getting ready for a night that won't have them staying in their hotel room they shared. Tara was getting ready in the bathroom, while Darcy sat on their bed, doing nothing really. She had put on her makeup this morning, but hadn't touched it since then. The red lipstick Tara brought for her had been sitting untouched all day. As she studied herself in the mirror in front of her, she couldn't help but remember how all of this started. She had been trying to figure out how long it had been going on, before finally coming to the conclusion that it hadn't even been a year.

However, after months of trying together and working together to keep their friendship afloat, Darcy was now sure she loved Tara more than she had ever thought possible. Not only was Tara amazing at art, she was funny, smart, kind, loyal, and just perfect. She was also absolutely beautiful. In Darcy's eyes, Tara was the embodiment of perfection. She wasn't perfect at everything; sometimes she forgot her homework, or fell asleep while eating dinner. But Darcy was always there to remind her of things that needed fixing, or make sure that she didn't overdo it. But she wondered why she'd chosen her. Tara was smart, strong, independent, confident, and apparently she liked girls. At least, she had said that. Darcy hoped that Tara wouldn't end up regretting her decision. Tara hadn't mentioned anything about liking girls at any point, but then again, she never talked about anything really important, unless you counted her artwork. And that was hardly ever.

In that moment, Tara called Darcy in the bathroom to help her zip up the dress. The dress was a beautiful pale blue silk fabric with lace accents and an empire waist, it fit perfectly for Darcy's small frame, she had bought the dress at the thrift store after spending all day in the dressing room trying on every piece of clothing they had available that was either too large or too short. The tension is there. It's always there between the two of them when she's in this form. She had the need to hug her and kiss the back of her neck. Tara looked stunning in Darcy's eyes and nobody could blame her, they both wanted to make sure this is the perfect night. Tara looked like she had done this a million times before, though she probably didn't. She was wearing her signature red lipstick and her black hair had been straighten out a bit. As she stepped out of the bathroom, Darcy took the time to look at herself in the mirror. Her makeup matched her dress perfectly. She couldn't believe she was wearing something so expensive.

Tara came out of the bathroom a few minutes later and stood in front of her, checking herself out as well. "Do I pass?" Tara asked. "Don't even need to ask me, darling." Darcy smiled. Tara kissed her cheek, took her bag and headed towards the door. "Are you ready?" Tara asked with a small smile on her face. "As I'll ever be." They were about to go out there for their first official date together after all. This was really happening. "Race me to the elevator?" Tara asked. "Come on, you know I will beat you." Darcy said while locking their room. She knew Darcy would never say no to a race. The two girls made their way down the hall. They both ran around all corners. Tara ended up winning. Darcy let out a groan. "What did you do that for? You were cheating!" She whined. "No, we just used different methods." Tara laughed. "I hate you." "That's not nice to say to someone who just won a race with you." Tara said. Darcy rolled her eyes and started walking down the hall. When she got to the stairs, Tara caught up to her. "We're going to be late if you keep running like that." Tara said. Darcy stopped, turned around and pushed Tara against the wall, placing one hand on each side of her face. "Oh really now?" Darcy smirked. "Yes really. And we can't be late because I have things to tell you." Tara said. "And what are those things?" "Well, firstly-" Tara started but was cut off by Darcy kissing her. She wrapped her arms around Darcy's waist and pulled her closer. "We should seriously hurry tho, Nick and Charlie are waiting for us probably and the rest of the group." "But, I didn't even start." "I know, baby, but we have plenty of time later, so you will get your chance." Darcy smiled and grabbed Tara's hand, leading them down to the lobby. Tara walked ahead of her, taking in everything she could as she passed through it. It felt so real, almost like she was still in England. Almost. But here, in Paris, everything feels completely different. Everything looks more alive than anything else.
