"I told you they would work together." Charlie grinned as he leaned into Nick again, pulling him close once more before their lips met.
Tara looked around the room with a grin, taking all in; Nick and Charlie dancing, Tao and Elle enjoying each others company... and then there she was, watching them with an expression that could only be described as lovestruck. Darcy had never seen her like that before, and she hoped to see that look many times over. But tonight, she wanted to spend time alone with Tara. So when their friends started leaving one after another, she grabbed Tara's hand and tugged her out the door.

It was dark outside now. The stars shone brightly above them and everything seemed so much quieter than usual. Tara wrapped her arm around Darcy as they walked along the path. They both stopped walking for a moment, just looking up at the sky. Darcy tilted her head up to kiss Tara softly, the taste of chocolate lingering on her lips. She knew she was feeling insecure right now, but she didn't want to take advantage of that.
When they parted, she saw tears glistening in Tara's eyes. "Are you okay?" she asked hesitantly, reaching up to brush away Tara's tears with her thumb.
Tara nodded firmly, smiling sadly as Darcy squeezed her hand. "We'll get through this, alright?" Tara promised her, squeezing her hand back. "Together."
"Lets go back to our hotel room and spend the rest of the night in bed, hm?" Darcy suggested softly. "That sounds good." Tara nodded her agreement and followed Darcy back towards their room. When they got to their hotel room, they showered separately and changed into something comfortable. Darcy shut the lights off, turned on Netflix, and put on a movie.
They spent the rest of the evening curled up together on the couch, cuddled up close together as the movie played. Eventually, they fell asleep. Tara pressed against Darcy's chest while Darcy held her tightly.

The next morning, Tara woke up first. She opened her eyes slowly and gazed up at Darcy's sleeping face. After everything she had been through, Darcy was still here. Still caring about her and making sure she felt safe. And she was happy. That's what mattered most.
After a few minutes she gently eased out of Darcy's arms and moved to sit down next to her. With a smile she reached out and stroked Darcy's hair, watching as the brunette slowly stirred awake. She sat up straight, blinking sleep out of her eyes. When she saw who it was next to her, her entire face lit up.

"Hey baby," Tara greeted quietly, leaning in to give her a soft kiss. She heard the click of her phone behind them and turned to see that Nick had texted them that he was running late. "We should probably start getting ready for the day."
Darcy sighed heavily in response and stood up, stretching before grabbing Tara's hand and gave her a small peck on the lips. As soon as they got dressed, they heard a knock on the door.
When Charlie walked into the room, he paused for a moment, seeing Tara standing beside Darcy, both of them grinning at him. He looked between them, not really sure where to go with this. "Morning!"
"Good morning!" Darcy chimed. "Go get ready! We're gonna have to leave in ten minutes to make it to our shoot at the park." Charlie nodded his understanding, giving them both quick hugs and hurrying out of the room. "You two can finish getting ready, I'm going to shower real quick."
Tara raised her eyebrows at Darcy as she headed for the bathroom, "Did you plan this?"
Darcy shrugged lightly, "It kind of just happened."
They had a day free to explore the city and just enjoy it and relax from all the upcoming exams and assignments.
Nick planned to join them a bit later since his anniversary with Charlie was coming up and he wanted to buy a perfect gift for him to express how much char meant to him.

In the meantime, Tara and Darcy headed to the park early, taking the scenic route instead of driving. They spent their afternoon talking, watching children play, and holding hands. By the end of the day, Tara was convinced that Darcy was falling in love with her.
The two were in a little cafe, sharing dessert when Darcy finally spoke.
I'm so glad we decided to do this today. This has been such a fun trip." She looked down at her plate, biting her lip. "I wish we could stay forever."
Tara smiled softly at her, "Me too." She agreed. "But I know that isn't possible."
"Yeah."
