Guests were arriving quickly, as attendants and valets attended each vehicle. Deacon turned left on the boulevard and got in line behind five cars, all headed into the hotel. The entrance was beautiful, very wide, with statues strapped to each side of the massive revolving door. Bellhops received the walk-in guests wearing majestic all black suits, white button shirts and a tie, with a gorgeous light orchid sticking out. Two huge bases, among other beautiful flower pots, adorned the entrance of the building.
"This is really nice!" Annie said as she looked towards the entrance, delicate flowers adorning every side of the car and pedestrian entries.
A young man approached their vehicle and Deacon rolled down his window to receive him.
"Sir, good morning." the man greeted with a grin, "Welcome to Stella Hotel. We can take care of your vehicle. Will you be checking in with 2 bags or more, today?" He was dressed with a uniform purple shirt with the name STELLA HOTEL written in the front left side. He wore short khakis and black shoes. Each of the cars was being approached by three young men dressed alike.
"Hello. No, actually. We're here for the opening of the restaurant at the top floor." said Deacon after he lowered the driver's window all the way down
"Ok, no problem. We will take care of your vehicle. You and madam can join the other guests in the main hall for complimentary drinks and hordevers." he said as he gestured towards the front of the building
"That sounds wonderful." said Annie very excited. Deacon rolled his window up and put the car on Park. Of course, right after this he hurried out to get his date's door. Always a true gentlemen!
The couple went in the revolving doors and then grabbed hands as they looked at the marvelous main room of the hotel. A giant 5ft tall chandelier hung in the middle, as a small pound with an automatic fountain proceed the entry. Some easy lounge chairs were established to the left of the room while the right side was busier with guests checking in and people chatting quietly in front of a wide counter.
"Hello and welcome to Stella Hotel. If you are checking in, please step to the right side of the main room. If you are joining us for the opening of Food for the Soul, our top floor restaurant, please head to the Ballroom #1, where we have set up everything for you. You will be guided towards the restaurant in about 10 minutes." said a lady with a beautiful one piece suit the same color as most of the flowers in the entrance: light orchid. Her name tag showed Emily, concierge.
Walking hand in hand, the couple made their way through the side, into the big ballroom. There, three long tables were set with refreshments and small samples. The room was occupied with 10 large round tables, able to seat 80 guests, 10 per table. Annie and Deacon walked slowly as they admired the stunning marvel floor and the row of flowers that surrounded the entire main room. Beautiful arrangements decorated every corner of the room, and the table ornaments were dressed with delicate orchids.
"This is just...stunning!" added Annie as she observed intently.
"Hey, yo!" called Hondo, who came rushing in from the farthest table, "Ain't this gorgeous? Makes me hide my South lingo an' everythin', geez!"
The rest of the adults giggled, as they proceeded to greet each other. As they gathered, more guests continued arriving, until Emily came in and announced the restaurant was ready. In small groups, the guest made their way to the elevators and unto the top floor.
To say the view was stunning was an understatement! Many guests held their breaths as they admired the beautiful setting of the restaurant. The terrace was surrounded by multiple arrangement of delicate orchids, and small statues. Every table was prepared neatly and the small dance floor in front of the live band was inviting. The musicians wore all white suits and their area looked like a small garden with stunning flowers. One tall muscular figure played the violin, the smallest played the saxophone and two others, who looked very alike, played the guitar and the cello.
