My alarm went off at 6:30 am, I didn't remember setting it, but I figured the institute had a schedule for me. I hit snooze and a few minutes later there was a knock at my door. I sighed and rolled out of bed, I walked over to answer it. At the door was Sally, "oh," she said at the sight of my messy hair and wrinkled clothes, unlike me she was fully dressed with her make-up done and her red hair slightly damp like she had just showered. "You might want to get ready, and by the way the 6:30 alarm means its time to be ready, you should set one before that." My eyes must have gone wide because she chuckled, "don't worry, you get used to it. I'll tell Mrs. Metz you woke up late." I nodded, "thanks."

She closed the door and after she had left I slapped my cheeks twice and whispered to myself, "get yourself together, woman!" Then I jumped into action, I ran over to my closet and picked out a pair of light blue jeans and a plain tight fitting black t-shirt. I jumped into the shower and quick washed my hair. After I got out I braided it down my back, because it was still wet my blonde hair looked brown and hung all the way to my waist. I got dressed and walked back out to my closet to find a pair of shoes. A pair of gray combat boots caught my eye and I slipped them on then took a look in the full body mirror on my bathroom door. This will do, I thought.

I put my hand on the door knob and was about to open it when there was another knock. I didn't want it to seem like I had been standing there so I waited a few seconds to open the door. This time it was Beau. He put his arm up and leaned agaist the door frame, that's a classic, I thought to myself. "You ready?" he asked, "you look good," he added. I blushed and sheepishly looked away, "let's go," he said nodding with his head in the direction we were supposed to go. He led me down yet another hallway until we came to a gym.

The same kids from last night were grouped around an elderly man who seemed to be explaining something. He looked up and saw me, "ah, Rose. It's good to have you here, I was just telling the rest of the group about their task, but you will be coming with me." I nodded my understanding and stood behind until he was done. The kids split up and seemed to know what they were doing, I did not. The old man walked over to me and I shook his hand, "I'm Mr. Coffner, but everyone just calls me Jim. I'm the telekinesis activities director, I will-" I cut him off, "Wait, did you just say telekinesis?!" I nearly shouted. He looked confused at first but then realization dawned on his face. He shook his head, "oh boy, you've got a lot to learn. Come with me." He turned and walked away but I was too stunned to follow, he glanced behind him and saw I wasn't there, "come on," he beckoned impatiently. I ran to catch up, "Mr. Coffner?" I asked, "call me Jim," he grumbled. I shook my head, "Jim? Why am I here? Is telekinesis real? Is that why all these other kids are here? Am I telekinetic? What are you-" He turned around and put his hands up, "Kid! All your questions will be answered soon enough."
