Practice

The university choir and orchestra was having a practice for the upcoming cantata. The director hired his good friend to take part as a narrator.

Klairee came in late so she slowly sneaked in and positioned herself at the back. She's a newbee of the choir so she's still at the stage of 'getting to know' everyone. She smiled and said hi to Leah who's sitting next to her while Darren watched her every move. Darren was also new to the group so he didn't know she was also having a hard time remembering all their names.

When the narrator started reading, Klairee was following her piece but her ears were attracted to the voice of the one reading. After his part, she slowly glanced at his direction and their eyes met unexpectedly as he was also watching her. He was surprised she locked eyes with him.

The practice was over and so Klairee and Scarlett went back together by her car. Scarlett was the one who invited her to join the choir.

"Our first performance will be 2weeks away. Are you ready?" Scarlett asked Klairee.

"No I'm not. I don't even have a dress yet. I can always say no right? Since I'm a newcomer."

"No, don't say no. You can't." Scarlett said in a jokingly authoritative voice and they both laughed.

"Seriously, I don't even know the songs yet." Klairee blurted.

They both went to have dinner in a famous street food market before going home. Their apartment rooms were next to each other in a nice building just nearby the university.

When they arrived home...

"I'm feeling so uncomfortable, do you want to go swimming for a short time?" Scarlett suggested.

"Yeah, I'd love to. I haven't been swimming for quiet a long time." Klairee answered.

"Great. I'll change quickly."

In a short while, Scarlett was already back in Klairee's room. All ready to go swimming.

"Should we bring some food and drinks?" Klairee thought.

"That's a good idea. We might get hungry in the middle."

"Okay, I'll bring our leftover from last time. Let's go.

When they reached the pool, there were some men swimming too. They're kind of scared and a bit not comfortable so they just stayed on the corner just yet.

"Hey, Scarlett! Mind if we join you guys?" Someone from the other end shouted as they were approaching them.

It was Dean, Scarlett's friend from the university. He's also in the university choir.

"Hey, I didn't know you're staying here?" Scarlett asked Dean in surprise.

"Yeah, I just moved in like last week? My friend stays here and I liked the atmosphere when I visited his place one time."

"I see." Scarlett responded.

"Oh, this is Darren, and this is Jag." Dean introduced his two friends.

"Hi, Scarlett here and this is Klairee. We both are staying here."

"Hi, Klairee." Darren greeted. And when they both looked at each other, they were both surprised.

"Oh, you're the narrator right?" Klairee blurted.

"Oh, yeah. You're also in the choir." Darren responded.

"Whoaah, it's amazing how everyone of us is in the choir." Jag said

"Oh, you're in the choir too?" Klairee asked.

"Yeah I just got in."

"Same here, today's my first day." Klairee said.
