***Author's note - somehow i accidentally deleted the origional chapter 41 and i'm really pissed off. so to anyone who read it originally, this is going to be a lot different because i don't remember everything as it was. UGH frick!***
In every way imaginable i did everything to push Shawn out of my mind. I didn't speak to him much, though i didn't ignore him. I texted Sam a lot more often to stop thinking about Shawn.
And still, I couldn't get Shawn off my mind. I had his "aftertaste" permanently on my lips, in my hard, and on my mind. The words of his song ran through my mind even though i hadn't listened to any of his songs since we had kissed. "Turns out that no one can replace me, I'm permanent, you can't erase me, I'll help you remember me, One more kiss is all it takes, I'll leave you with the memory, And the aftertaste, Close your eyes you can't hide, Try to forget me but I'm everywhere, I'm the smell on your sheets you weren't ready, When you left me there."
I decided to go home for the weekend to be with Aaron. I'd been at least a month since i'd been home. It was time for a visit that lasted longer than an afternoon. And they missed my cooking.
I told Bella. She paused one of her favorite episodes of "Friends" to talk to me. "Hey Bella," i started. "What's up?"
"I was thinking of visiting home for the weekend..."
"And leaving me here all alone?"
"You could ask Cameron to come over."
"Sure, but do you have to?"
"Yes," i said as i left the room. It'd be fine. Bella wouldn't miss me too much i knew she wouldn't.
Bella's POV:
I called Cameron. He didn't answer at first. All i could hear was multiple people's laughter from the other end. I called out, "Cam? Cameron? Cameron Dallas answer me!"
He giggled, "Sorry....the Jacks and Hayes are over and oh God the funniest thing just happened."
I was frustrated that he wouldn't stop laughing and i really wanted to invite him over already, "What?"
"So we were out on the balcony and Jack Gilinsky was hitting on this girl on the ground below. Then the stand up of Hayes we have out there fell on him and smacked him in the face!"
"How is that funny? That's terrible!"
"Because then Jack took the poster in anger, cussed it out, and threw it over the edge. The girl below picked it up and walked away squealing. It was hilarious."
Okay, maybe it was a bit funny, "Haha Cam that's great. I was calling to ask you something though."
"Sure. Hit me with it."
"That's not funny."
"Fine. But what is it?"
"Athalia's visiting home for the weekend and i'll be all alone so i was wondering if you'd want to-"
"Stay over?"
"Sure. I'll be there after you get back form school on Friday okay? Anything i should bring?"
Jack Gilinsky stole the phone, "A condom honey! Don't forget to remind him to bring that!" i screamed at him, "No! Jack! I'm waiting!"
Finally Cameron got the phone back and he said, "Sorry babe." It was fine; Jack was just kidding after all. I told him, "As a matter of fact, you could bring nice clothes for Sunday and then some crappy clothes you don't care about getting stained and some eggs okay?"
