The day was really here now. The day where I was leaving for Gotham. I had packed the most of my belongings with me without spending too much time at my dad's house except getting some of my mail.

I had also spent most of the summer working and earning some extra money for the school year even though the school had provided me with a scholarship, which meant I didn't have to pay rent for my dorm. They also offered me monthly pocket money, which I had to live for when the money from here was running low.

There was not much time until the boat was leaving for Reykjavik and both Victor and Arthur were helping me get my things on the boat. Palina was crying in my arms, and I was actually quite sad to, but kept my tears on the inside. Victor gave me a hug too before he and Palina made their way back to the pub and I had only Arthur left to say goodbye to.

"I'll miss you" I say and hug him while he is hugging me back. "I'll miss you too" He reply, and I lift my head up to meet his eyes. He lower his head and kisses me gently before I hug him tighter with my face, leaning my head towards his chest.

"Elena Marie Scott!" I hear and let go of Arthur. I turn around and see my dad storm down the dock towards us. I could feel the anger in his walking and his voice yelling my name.

"Where do you think you're going?" He asks me still angered and I stand my ground. "I am leaving for school. To Gotham to be specific" I reply and take a deep breath. "So, you were just supposed to leave?" He continues angrily. "I tried telling you, but you were too busy to listen" I say and equally angry as him.

I had tried to tell him that I was leaving all summer, but he had either been at sea for most of it and unobtainable when he was back at home. There was nothing more I could do but I had left a letter telling him the day and time I was leaving so I guess he at least read that. Well, he had to since he was here right now

"You can't stop me from leaving dad. This about my education and the rest of my life" I tell him and the captain of the boat yell out that the boat is leaving. "Goodbye dad" I say before turning around leaving. I kissed Arthur one more time before getting onto the boat.

The boat started leaving and left both my Arthur and my dad back on the dock. It was a bittersweet feeling seeing the town get even smaller as the boat made its way out the bay. It pained me leaving a familiar place and move onto something unfamiliar, but I always wanted to leave this place and now I finally was on my way doing just that.

In Reykjavik Palina's sister was waiting for me to drive me straight to the airport. The flight was very long, and I wanted to get settled into my dorm as quickly as possible. She gave me a hug when I came of the boat and helped me carry my things to the car before we started our drive to the airport.

Getting through with checking in my luggage and getting through the security was a pain but as I sat down by the gate, I let out a big sigh. There were still a good time before they started boarding the plane, so I decided on getting some food to eat and maybe a bottle of water to bring with me onto the plane.

Many hours later the plane landed in Gotham, and I was making my way out of the airport with all my things to get to the campus. Fortunately for me there were a whole line of taxis outside the main exit, so I easily got a hold of a taxi to get me there.

Finally standing on campus was unreal, but so thrilling at the same time. A girl walked up to me with a board in her hand and smiled at me. "Hello, I'm Julie the student supervisor on campus here for first time students. Can I get your name?" She ask enthusiastically and talked so fast I was afraid she was going to run out of air. "Uhm... Elena Scott?" I reply here and she smiles wide before looking down onto the board where there is a list of names.

"Oh, here you are" she says pointing at my name. "You are staying in block B in room 258" she says, and I nod back at her before she almost run to another couple of people. She almost looked like a shark spotting its next meal.

I somehow manage get my things with me in two rounds, but I was really exhausted after it. My roommate had not shown up yet, but there was a week until school started. I just wanted to be early and since I kind of had a long way here I wanted to settle in as fast as possible.

I needed to go to the administration to get sorted with everything and maybe I could see if there was somewhere I could get some food in me. The walk to the administration building was hard as I hadn't actually got the information on where it was, but after asking passer by people I finally found it and got all the information I needed together with a map showing all of campus. It would come in handy when I was looking for classrooms next week.

Walking back to my room I decided to take a little walk around campus instead and found a close by convenience store just across the street of the campus entrance. I bought some water bottles and some easy food to eat before I packed out the boxes I had brought with me.
