My head was pounding as I sat up. I was still in the alley, but the men were gone. They hadn't taken my belongings from my pocket. What happened? My head was stinging like crazy and I put a hand up the back of my head. There was no blood on my hand as I looked at it after, so I guess there was no need to go to a hospital.

I got up and made my way towards the street again. The streets were empty, and I sighed as I started walking towards the b&b. My backside was soaked after laying on the ground for quite some time, but somehow I felt more dirty after not knowing what happened after everything turned black. Had these guys had just vanished? Into thin air? Without taking any of the money I had on me or taking advantage of me being unconscious? My clothes were not ripped, the jeans just slightly dirty and wet and my sweater the same.

I needed to get some sleep. The interview tomorrow was too important to miss. I pull out my phone from my jacket and sigh when I see the cracked screen. It's 3 am and it was seven hours until my interview. I should never had walked out that late to get some food. I had read about the crime here and I knew that walking the streets, alone after dark was dangerous. Of course I had to be that stupid. I guess bad luck was a curse I had somehow gotten thrown over me.

I walked into the room and when the door closed behind me, the tears came pouring and I tried collecting myself. Walking into the bathroom I decided to take a quick shower before getting a few hours of sleep before the interview. Maybe I could try to wash away what happened earlier, like the water could help me forget.

Standing under the warm water I closed my eyes, pretending Arthur was here and kiss the whole episode away. His arms wrapped around me, making me feel safe. When my eyes open again I am back alone in the shower. In a shower far away from home.

In bed I stared at the roof when I suddenly remembered the bat-like figure appearing just before it all went black. I sit up and my eyes go wide. It couldn't be, could it? I mean, why would he be saving me? I just found it hard to believe that someone like Batman would be saving me from those guys.

I fell asleep quite fast after thinking about it, and in my I was reliving the episode all over again.

When the alarm rang I had only gotten two hours of sleep all together. The bags under my eyes was the biggest I had ever seen them, and I tried to cover them the best I could. The interview was in two hours, and by the gps on my phone I had found out that the cab ride to the university was approximately twenty minutes, which meant I had time to get some breakfast before I left.

The smell hit my nose as I walked into the dining area on the first floor. My stomach growled loudly as I entered the room, making the people closest to the door turn their heads, and me walking past them awkwardly towards the buffet table.

I was eating for two as well now, so I had to be sure to get food in my system. Being without food for a whole 24 hours can't be good for the both of us. Even if it was a simple breakfast, I sighed in awe, enjoying the food as much as possible.

By the time I was done I had almost eaten to much for my stomach to handle. I looked at my phone and saw that I had an hour getting to campus before my interview. I decided to get to campus early and maybe look around for a bit while I tried calming my nerves.

The campus wasn't big which meant that I had a lesser chance at getting lost while trying to find my classes. Well, that was if I got in to this school. I walked around the area, making sure I had plenty of time getting to the administrative building.

Sitting on a chair outside the principal's office didn't help my nerves one bit. The sweet secretary I had learned her name was Ellen, smiles at me sometimes when her gaze met mine the few times I looked up. She was sitting at the desk opposite me and typed into her computer. The sound of her fingernails hitting the buttons on her keyboard didn't help my headache much either.

I closed my eyes for a little bit and Arthur appeared before me, smiling. How was I supposed to move away from him if he was the one I was thinking of constantly. "See you in a few days" he said and his voice calmed me.

He suddenly disappears and I'm surrounded by darkness as a voice calls my name.

"Ms. Scott?" The voice calls out for a second time and my eyes fly open. "Yeah I'm here" I say and stand up quickly before smiling to the older man standing in front of me.
