After a few hours, almost every battle had wrapped up, with Temari, Naruto & Shino moving forth. Shikamaru sighed from next to [Name], rolling his eyes as he still couldn't believe his defeat yet could not think of anything strategically that would've aimed for his win. "Shika.." [Name] looked over at the Nara, who eyed her in response. "You did the right thing," she commented to him, having watched his battle intensely. "So..! Stop moping around..You did great still, and thought it strategically." she then encouraged him, before the boy rolled his eyes again.
"It..was troublesome.., but thank you." he finally said, a small smile forming on his face. "Whys is your boyfriend taking so long to show up?" [Name] flinched upon the words Shikamaru spurred out to her at the moment, referring to Sasuke as her 'boyfriend', despite the fact the Nara still had his own lingering feelings, though after giving the girl his long-awaited card he held onto for so long, it began to die out exceptionally but [Name] still wandered in his mind. "He's not—" she rolled her eyes at the fact that he was trying to get a reaction out of her.
Flicking the boy in the arm, he let out a pained noise, she knew he was still in pain from his chakra usage from his battle and he glared at her as he held on to his arm. Quietly sighing out, he wondered had he been too late in his letter arrival to her, 5 years too late. He could see the extra glimmer of hope and emotion in her eyes upon Naruto's fight and her worrying about Sasuke's whereabouts.
He wondered, did she ever garner that much emotion when it came to others, such as him. Eyeing over to the girl as she worriedly looked on for Sasuke's arrival, her eyes went wide as if she noticed something. "I think he's..near..I sense something similar to him.." He could barely make out what she had said at first due to the loud chatter and ruckus throughout the arena. The response to what she had said was answered shortly after when the crowds began to become louder whistles, cheers, and evening some boos. Looking down, he saw what confirmed all the noise. Sasuke Uchiha had finally made it.
The Uchiha looked up at the crowds, squinting onwards as he took in the audience with a huff. He had been running the whole time. Looking over at [Name], The Nara took a daunting chance and looked over at the girl, seeing her face contort into excitement upon the boy's arrival. Was this the start of Shikamaru's jealously?
