Her glare was deadly, but those eyes were beautiful. Her eyes looked like a stormy gray-blue. Her lips were full and pink and her cheeks were a lighter shade of rose. I scowled at her, pretty girls get on my nerves, and by the looks it, I'm going to hate this chick. "Nice acting, sweetheart, I totally bought the whole 'damsel in distress' thing." I smirked. She went over to a small table against the side of the room and grabbed a file off the metal surface.
She held it up, "May I, General?" she asked hopeful. The 'General' nodded, the woman held the file flashed a quick smile to the General, then turned to face me. "Do you know what this is?" she asked like a know-it-all.
My expression turned bored, "A file?" I tried, my voice came out flatly. She smiled, a fake one, and opened the file, gazing down at it.
"James Rainwater, age:27, number of people you've murdered..." she trailed off, she looked horrified, I grinned.
"Keep reading." she stood motionless, then walked over to Scary-guy.
"Agent Colt?" she asked, holding the file out to him. Agent Colt, I gulped, isn't a Colt a gun?
He took the file, "My pleasure." he said. "I'm going to read you your file to you, if you hear something incorrect, testify against it, clear?" he growled, I gulped. The General nodded in approval, and walked to the mirror in the room.
"General Kad, out" she spoke, clearly, the doors slid open and shut, activating a lock after she left.
"You, James, are one of the most wanted criminals." Criminals? Wait, are these not bad guys? What is going-
"I wont read the number of deaths, wouldn't want to make you feel too proud, but I must say, you're killing your own kind."
"I have good intentions." I said, bluntly.
"Right," he said sarcastically, he cleared his throat. "Well, I see that each month is a different cause of death. February: hanging, March: torture, April: soaked in...hydrochloric acid." he shuddered, he looked up at me, "Shall I continue?"
"Please." I beamed.
He glanced down once more, "Electrifying them, uh...you-you skinned people alive?" he looked at me, astonished.
I glared, "Well, when you say it like that, you make me sound psychotic." The room was so silent you could hear a pin drop. After a minute of awkward silence, the blondie spoke.
"Right to the point. First, let me inform you, there is no point in escaping; you are in a high security CIA compound." My mind went absolutely blank, I've been captured by the CIA? How could I be so stupid? "We've invited you here today-"
"You apparently don't know the definition of 'invitation'. It means, just so you get is right next time, that you should give someone a call or a get together card." She stared at me at me as if I were from another planet, she blinked. That did sound kind of stupid, I thought.
She cleared her throat, "And I suppose you would've come if we gave you a call or a...card?"
I chuckled, "Okay, okay, maybe the card thing was a bit dramatic, but either way, no, I wouldn't have come."
She smirked, "That's what I thought," she coughed, "anyway we, uh, collected you here today because the CIA needs your help." she said. A laugh erupted from my chest out into the open, Blondie and Colt jumped and looked at me with surprise.
"The CIA needs me? James Aro Rainwater to help you?" I asked, sorting things out, she nodded. I shut mouth and felt my face burning up, giggles slipping out.
"Well, you did it, Agent Colt, we officially know that he has brain damage." Blondie sneered.
Agent Colt shook his head, disagreeing."Agent Kelly, the General gave you this assignment to be his handler. If you keep acting like so, then I will inform the General, myself, that you aren't qualified to participate in this case." Colt said strictly.
"Um, hi guys, I just wanted to say that I'm turning down this offer, I work alone" I interrupted, they turned to me.
"The best part about this, Mr.Rainwater, is that you have no choice in the matter." Beamed Agent Colt, he's happy about that? My mouth gapped open, I had no words to express what I felt; annoyed, angered, and sickened. I hung my head, then an idea popped into my head.
"Fine, but on one condition...you help find my Barry Aleric."
"Deal." answered Agent Kelly, automatically.
