The first few days went slowly. Chuuya would be lying if he said he wasn't bored. He spent most of the day sat in the office trying not to fall asleep whilst organising files or following members around on small missions.

Dazai chewed lightly on a pencil as he closed his sketchbook and took off his headphones.

"Finally done with your 'break'." Chuuya snarked as the taller man placed the headphones on his desk.

"Clearly."

Kunikada returned from Fukuzawa's office with a large file. A loud thud echoed through the room, causing Ranpo to glare down at the case in front of him. He slowly unwrapped the lollipop in his hand. "Some parts aren't adding up, we can't figure out what though. Can you solve it?" Ranpo pulled down his glasses as he sucked the sweet on the stick.

He skimmed through the file. "Witness no.4, Sato Ayako, her statement doesn't match the others."

"Really?"

"Mhm. It's a small difference. One most people would typically brush off. However it is there, and it is purposeful. If you think about it, she was the only witness who doesn't work there."

"Do you think she was threatened or blackmailed into lying?"

"Maybe, come back in 10. I'll see what I can find out."

"Thank you"

"No problem just bring me Cotten candy tomorrow." Kunikida sighed quietly as he made his way to his own desk.

"Got it." Ranpo yelled catching Kunikida's attention. "Send Newbie and dumbass over to the factory and hand them this file" he hands over a small file. "It's everything they need to know condensed into notes."

"Why them?" He asked as he scanned over the information.

"Because, Kunikida, I have a feeling this won't be easy, and they weren't feared for no reason. So let's see what they can do" kunikida pondered on what he said. He knew Dazai could be scary. He was a dangerous man. What he hadn't fully realised was to what extent, Chuuya's arrival made him realise just how little he knew about him in the mafia. He exhaled as he called the two men over. Chuuya glared in frustration at Ranpo who was sitting next to where he was standing. He hadn't moved on from being trapped in the book yet. Ranpo at just smiled sweetly and opened another bag of treats yosano had bought for him.

Dazai and Chuuya were strolling towards the factory when chuuya stumbled over his feet. An eruption of laughter echoed through the canopy of trees. Chuuya growled in response. "This brings back momemories." Dazai chuckled. "I remember our 6th mission together in the mafia. You fell flat on your face in front of the guy we were about to fight and broke your nose. Best day of my life."

"It was awful. You wouldn't stop laughing either."

"In my defence, You were walking like a snail, I get you have little legs but how did you even manage to trip at that speed. Also You'd think being able to manipulate gravity would prevent you from being a clutz but nope. Not to mention, the guy was stood there with a confused look plastered on his face. It was hysterical."

"Fuck knows how I managed too. Plus you're right his reaction was funny." He said calmly before processing what Dazai had said. "HEY!! MY LEGS AREN'T THAT LITTLE!" As they approached the building in which dirt and dust coated the floors, their voices fell quiet. Mould and moss decorated the walls. It looked abandoned, the sound of machines roaring suggested otherwise though.

"Are you ready to beat their asses?" Dazai smirked.

"I have to be because you won't beat them." Chuuya snarked.
