Chapter 1: The Depths of Despair

3rd POV. Tachibana Residence, Mt. Yougou, Narukami Island.

No one knows when did the earthquake occur. But, they all know that it is from a natural phenomenon.

The earthquake that was felt not only in Narukami Island, it was also felt in the other islands of Inazuma: Tatarasuna, Yashiori Island, Watatsumi Island, Seirai Island, and the desolated Tsurumi Island.

When the earthquake reached Watatsumi Island, even their leader, Sangonomiya Kokomi, a gifted strategist, she didn't even expect such an earthquake to occur. Though most of the residents of the island are injured, no one died as Kokomi quickly acted upon the situation.

In Narukami Island, the residents of the mainland panicked as the epicenter of the earthquake appeared just north of Narukami Island.

At the Grand Narukami Shrine, the Guuji, Yae Miko, also made immediate plans for the shrine maidens hold on during the earthquake, as descending upon the mountain is equal to committing suicide.

But........at the foot of Mt. Yougou, the family who peacefully lived there........

Had no chance of escaping, as the debris quickly rained down and blocked their path of escaping.......

And even if they are under their house, it wasn't able to withstand multiple boulders raining down upon it.

The result, the death of the Tachibana Family, with the exception of Reimei, who just went from the beach and went to an open area in order to be safe from the earthquake.

It could be safe to say, that the only casualties of the earthquake, are the members of the Tachibana Family.

And now, the only remaining member, the eldest son of the Tachibana Family, discovered the horrible fate of his family........

The seven year old Reimei was horrified upon the horrific sight of his home, and the fate of his family.

His beloved mother, her corpse lying on top of a pool of her own blood, lower body crushed underneath the giant boulder, and her face before she died, was full of horror.

Reimei: M-Mother...........

The tragedy still wasn't over yet.

Reiwa, his younger brother's leg also crushed under a boulder and his blood spilling out of his wound. Next, Satsuki, whose spine was impaled by a boulder, and her corpse lying upon the fallen trees that fell.

Reimei's horror was even more intensified, as his hands began shaking upon the horrible sight of his siblings' deaths.

Reimei: Reiwa, Satsuki.........

Until.......he found the smallest body amongst the casualties........however.......

The head was crushed under a boulder, this is Sei, the youngest sister of Reimei. How did Reimei identified it was Sei, the cloth that was wrapped around the youngest child had sea ganoderma design.

Reimei: Sei........no.......no..........

The young boy fell on to his knees, still processing the horrible deaths of his family.......
