In a small town in Korea lived a small boy and girl. Inseparable,conjoined basically by the hip one may say. The boy with bunny like features chased a little girl with hazel eyes. Childish laughter filled the summer air while their parents watched them play. Just like the children the parents were best of friends. Jungkook and Amber basically soulmates but in a friend way.
Jungkook patted the girl's head after running. "Bambi love you long time" "Kookie love you long time time" "Bambi" "Hmm?" "Wanna run?" Amber knew what run meant it was their code word. Code word for their secret place. Not even their parents knew of their secret place. "Let's go kookie" Smiles grew on their faces as they ran. Running without a care in the world. All that mattered was this moment. Summer breeze flowing through their hair as they ran. Hand in hand the two ran, ran away to their own world. Out of breath they finally reached their hideaway.
It was a fifteen minute walk or run from their homes. A small cave they called their second home. Well hidden from reality and their small world problems. "Kookie" "Yeah bambi?" "Do you think we will be best friends forever?" "Hm?" Grabbing her hand he looked at her confused. "Why the silly question?" "I dunno just wondering" "Weirdo" "At least I don't look like a bunny rabbit"
He gave a cute mad face towards her. Maybe he was young and didn't know what he was doing. It was like a magnetic force that pulled him in. He locked eyes while moving closer to his best friend. He had seen his parents do this before so I guess it's to seal a promise. She gave the boy a confused look, but didn't move a muscle.
Now inches from her face he pecked her lips. "Kookie?" He couldn't contain himself he started to giggle. Even gave his signature bunny smile. "I sealed my promise" "Promise?" "To always protect you." She giggled "My turn then" She leaned in and pecked his lips like he did to her. "What's your promise?" "To stay by your side"
Their promises bonded the two for years. Until the beginning of their high school years.
Two years ago (14 years old) Promises tend to break over the course of time. Amber was at the secret place waiting for Jungkook. Hours passed still no sign of him. She began to crawl out the cave that seemed bigger when she was six years old. She heard a familiar laugh it was her kookie. There he stood but he wasn't alone. He was with a popular girl a girl from school. There he stood laughing at her jokes. Amber would be lying to herself if she didn't think the girl was beautiful. Watching them laugh together ignited something. Was it jealousy? She has known the boy almost her whole life why would she be jealous. Next school year was a new chapter of their small town life. Frozen she thought of everything that could happen. Scared of what the future held for the two best friends.
She began to walk away to go home cause obviously Jungkook was busy. Reminiscing of memories like cherry blossoms on a spring day. Nothing last forever just like cherry blossoms. Without realizing tears began to form in the hazel eyes of hers. When she finally arrived home she threw herself on the bed. Wanting to escape reality even for a moment. Suddenly there was a knock on her window. It was him the boy with the bunny features. The boy she thinks for the first time she fell in love with. Although she didn't want to admit those feelings to herself. Because in her mind "how can you fall for your best friend?" Played in her mind. She slowly opened her window to hear what he had to say. "Can we talk?" No Bambi? "Sure" Making your way out the front of the house. There he stood with that stupid cute smile. "Hey kookie" "Hi" Why is he acting different? "Why didn't you go to our spot?" "sorry I forgot" Why didn't he just say he was with that girl "Oh it's fine you know I can't stay mad at you" "Yeah" I don't like this "So listen Amber" What's happening "We start high school in two weeks" Oh no "And maybe..." Don't you dare kook "We shouldn't.." No don't "Be friends anymore" Yup there it goes right there My whole world crashing How do you throw away 12 years away? " I'm sorry I hope you understand" "Bye see you around" "Stay safe okay?" My heart is torn into millions You broke the promise You didn't keep me safe I'm hurting Hurting because of you
