It has been a week since Touya and Tenko began staying with Jiro. Much to everyone's surprise, there weren't any issues.
They'd start their day by waking up in Jiro's room and then moving to the bathroom. After washing up and changing, they'd eat breakfast with Jiro and then help him downstairs in his cafe. It was mostly just Touya taking orders while Tenko sampled the baked goods, but it was help regardless.
And by time night came by, they'd be back upstairs and ready for bed. Late dinners seemed to be normal for Jiro when he lived alone, if he even remembered to eat. But he fussed that growing children need to eat at a respectable time.
Something Touya and Tenko learned about Jiro was that the man was extremely stubborn. There was no trying to weasel their way out of anything when it came to their health. Even their mental health. When Jiro learned Touya had issues near tall men due to past trauma, he refused to allow Touya near any customers that might trigger un-needed stress.
He even helped Tenko read and write more during breaks. He never forced the young child to speak a word. Jiro even asked if Tenko would like to learn sign language to help him communicate more.
Everything was peaceful, almost as if everything was finally the way it was meant to be.
"TOUYA WHAT HAVE I SAID ABOUT SETTING TENKO ON FIRE BECAUSE HE TOOK THE LAST WAFFLE," Jiro's voice rang out from the office. It was currently Saturday, meaning they all had a much needed break from running the cafe. The shop itself was open every day of the week, but on the weekend Jiro took this time to teach Tenko and Touya sign language and whatever else they were interested in. The last thing he wanted was for them to not be given enough mental stimulation.
Touya winced at the realization that he has been caught. Jiro's quirk, quirk barrier, is constantly active during the day. Meaning not only can be disable their quirks, but he can slightly feel when someone is using one within the area.
"BUT HE TRIED TO TURN MINE INTO ASH!" The twelve year old complained. Even if Jiro wasn't looking, he could still see the pout on the boy's face.
Jiro let out a long sigh before closing his laptop. His new project would just have to wait until later. "And Tenko, don't think you're off the hook either." He gave the child a playful glare. The younger two have grown used to Jiro's teasing, they found it comforting. It was nice to have a care-free atmosphere versus what they were used to. Touya especially found it refreshing.
"But Mr. Jiroooooo! Blueberry waffles are my favorite." He sulked while staring down at his plain waffle. Touya found himself acting more and more childish the longer he stayed here. It wasn't necessarily a bad thing to him, but it didn't quit feel normal. If he was at his other house with his father he'd be training already.
He wasn't saying he missed his old house in the slightest though. He loved being able to wake up whenever he wanted and not have to worry about impressing anyone. And Jiro even applied burn ointment for him! But there were some aspects he missed... for instance, his siblings. His sister was only a year younger than him. Touya didn't even want to imagine the pain they were all going through right now. From his "death" to Shoto's newly found quirk, it couldn't be easy there. Maybe that's why he clung onto Tenko so much. He was about the same age as Shoto...
