Father's Day Special

(Y/N)'s POV

I wasn't in the best of moods today and I was just staring out of the window in the Rust Bucket. I slumped down in my seat, buried in my thoughts. Today is Father's Day, and I wish this day never happened.

Because this is how it happened, this is how my father died.

The Tennysons and the girls arrived at the park for a little R&R. Everyone was excited, well, everyone except (Y/N). (Y/N) was busy sulking in sadness and have his head down, and Ellie seems to take notice.

Ellie: "(Y/N), what's wrong?"

(Y/N): "H-huh, oh, nothing is wrong, baby."

Ellie: "Are you sure? Because you have been acting depressed since we got here."

(Y/N): 😡 "Ellie, I'm telling you, I'm fine. Leave me the fuck alone!"

Ellie was shocked and taken aback by her boyfriend's outburst. (Y/N) realized what he did and walks away, cursing himself.

(Y/N): "Fucking idiot, why did I do that? I didn't mean to shout at her, I was just upset." (Sees a bunch of other kids and teens spending time with their dads) "It's not fair, they get to keep their dads longer in their lives while mine was taken from me! And this day is a cruel reminder of what happened to my father on that day." (Slams his fist on the ground) "It's not fair!"

(Y/N) watches with tears in his eyes as he watches on. Meanwhile, Ellie walks back to the others with her head down.

Penelope: "Ellie, what's wrong? Where's (Y/N)?

Ellie: " Don't know, don't care either."

Carrie: "What happened?"

She-Venom appeared from behind Ellie.

She-Venom: "(Y/N) yelled at her and told her to go away after he ran off somewhere in which I saw a look of regret on his face."

Fiona: "Why? Why would he do that? Did something or someone hurt him?

Ellie: " No, Fiona. It's a bit more personal than that.

Luna: "How so?"

Max: "We can tell you."

Ellie and the rest of the girls turn to see Grandpa Max and Gwen standing right behind them.

Fiona: "You know why our (Y/N) is acting this way?"

Max: "Yes, pull up a chair, and let's talk."

The girls gathered around Max and were ready to hear.

Max: "(Y/N)'s father was a high-ranking soldier. By all, he was like a super-soldier for the army and what they described him to be. He has survived many wars and battles, sure with scrapes and bruises along the way, but he was the best soldier the army could have asked for. He was nice, fierce, brave, and strong that's why they look up to him. He was like our version of Captain America. (Y/N)'s father would always visit his son and wife on (Y/N)s Birthday and even visits on holidays too. I even get to see him as well, but happened one year ago on this day (Y/N)'s father died in a war against enemy forces. he died while trying to save his friend but the cost of him being shot multiple times. Although he survived, he died due to blood loss in a doctor's room when they were extracting the bullets. The general came in and broke the news to (Y/N) and my daughter, so every year on Father's Day, whenever someone brings up his father, (Y/N)  would always blame himself because he believes that (D/N) for his safety. That's why he is the way he is."

Diana: "That's why (Y/N)s been acting different today."

Max: *nods*

Diana: "We'll, I hope he overcomes the grief that looms over him."

Ellie: "Let's hope so."

(Y/N) was sleeping under a tree. In his dream, he was walking in a black space where nothing but his echoes can be heard. He feels like he's been walking for what seems like hours and all that could accompany him was the echoes of his voice. After walking for what seems like forever, (Y/N) sees a figure in the distance.
