Hiro's unfocused pupils dropped its gaze down to his fingers and hand. What greeted his sight were the evident dark roots that have already crawled its way on half of his fingertips and they were twitching and itching, emotionally influenced by his naivety joined by the peeve mixture of his unfamiliar melancholic frustration.
The sleeves of his polo shirt were badly burned to ashes with the toxic and virulent waves of black smoke poisonously sticking to his skin which left a burning and pulsating sensation inside him, allowing him to feel numb all over.
Unbothered, his hands crumpled into a ball of fists in his front as they slowly slide towards the side of his thighs, his veins infuriated.
He breathes through his nose and attempts to calm his thoughts down, but the more he applied force the more he exerts the contained void within him that ticks off his thin patience, and just like the past few days, disappointment washes over him like a struck of lightning.
Answers . . . He wants answers.
'They're incompetent foolsss . . . Shhkk—kill them . . .' A slithering voice whispers hungrily behind him and he tilts his head, giving it a cold shoulder as it continues to pry itself into his thoughts.
'Wouldn't it be better to rule over the world . . . ssshhhaaaa . . . kekekekeke. Think about it . . . sssssssss—with your power and voice, every little thing you desire to have will be at the palm of your hands.'
Hiro narrows his eyes, tilts his head up, and swept his hair back, looking apathetically at the peaceful night sky. He had mastered feigning ignorance to their needs when he seldom had a bigger one to mend in his hands, which has been the cause of the uneasiness and discomfort weighing his chest down, much worse than the past incident he, too, suffered from.
He parts his lips and softly utters the name of the very person who reigned in his mind ever since he can remember.
'Your, exsellensyyyyy . . . think about it. Kekekekeke,' the slithering voices were laughing from every corner he can point to.
Why did his little sprout choose to side those attendants over him?
Lost in deep thoughts, "Hellion," he summons.
After a second or two passes, a lonesome shadow in leopard form crept out of him and sits by his side as the eerie voices he's been enduring to not associate himself with died down.
"My lord?"
Was it the way that person looks different?
"How long have you known humans?"
Hellion's disoriented figure blazes under the moonlight as the dark abyss inside its eyes stared back into his. "Since the world began to crumble in chaos."
"Then which are the common standards that will pique human curiosity?"
Does everyone take more interest in older men?
Hellion, in leopard form, stands and walks his way around his master, buying some time to think everything through. Was this about that human boy again? "It depends on whom this curiosity dwells from."
Hiro grits his teeth, "I see." His eyes were lost in wonder by the stars before him that were too far for him to reach.
Jin . . .
He misses him.
Out of blue, the raw memory of their conversation inside the elevator resurfaces in the back of his head. Every second of it was vividly clear, but he could barely even feel the slightest warmth he felt from back then in his numb hands right now.
