42: The Truth

Third Person's POV

After so many examination, the doctors have confirmed that donghae's illness really is Alzheimer's Disease. they have given him the results and for the past few weeks donghae has been trying to conceal his disease to the group, he hid the results underneath their underwear drawer. he's been struggling to keep it because he doesn't know how to tell his husband and his co members the news. 

"Donghae-ah" Heechul called.

"yes?" Donghae replied. 

"Leeteuk hyung is calling you to the living room" Heechul told him before exiting the couples bedroom. 

"That would seem like a serious conversation if heechul hyung looks like that" hyukjae said while scrolling on his phone. 

"am I in trouble?" donghae asked jokingly which made hyukjae chuckle. 

"Maybe" hyukjae answered. 

"I'm kind of nervous" donghae stated before standing up. 

"You'll be fine, love. go on, don't let leeteuk hyung wait" hyukjae said which his wife obliged and exited the room. 

right after donghae exited the room, hyukjae stood up from the bed and began rummaging on their belongings. Siwon, who passed by the slightly open door saw hyukjae looking for something. he went inside the room, closing it behind him before asking his friend. 

"Hey, why do you look so stressed, did you misplace anything?"siwon asked. 

"no, I'm looking for donghae's belongings."hyukjae said. 

"why? I know he's your bethroted but isn't it a bit overstepping to look at something he doesn't want anyone to see?" siwon said. 

"I know he's hiding something. he's my wife, I know him. he's been distant, I know there is something wrong. for the past few weeks he's been out of it. he's distant. I don't what it is, but I suspect he's having affair." Hyukjae said while looking dead straight into siwon's eyes that made the latter sigh in defeat and instead help him look. 

they rummage into the clothes until hyukjae, who was looking at the underwear section, saw an envelope underneath the underwear with a logo of a hospital. 

"Siwon" hyukjae called his friend while still looking at the envelope examining the logo. 

"What is that?" siwon asked. 

"**** hospital" Siwon mumbled under his breath. 

They looked at each other before hyukjae opened the envelope and read the truth. the reason why donghae has been weird lately. the reason why donghae is distant to him. the reason why donghae has been out of it. It's not an affair. 

meanwhile, in the living room, all of the members except hyukjae and siwon are there having a discussion. 

"Why have you been distancing yourself, donghae?"Kangin was the first to ask. 

"I just feel sick lately, I-I, uhmm, I don't wanna, you know, uhm, infect anyone while a possible disease" donghae answered nervously. 

"You've been out of it lately, We know you, we know there's something wrong" yesung said. 

"Nothing's wrong just a little sick, we have schedule so I don't wanna infect you guys" donghae replied while fidgeting his fingers, which didn't go unnoticed to heechul, who didn't mutter any words about it. 

"are you really okay?" leeteuk said. donghae was about to answered when hyukjae arrived, looking mad and scared at the same time. 

"Why would he be okay?" Hyukjae answered leeteuk angrily while holding up the envelope.
