Chapter 12

Izumi

Waking through the tunnel to the field I held a stoic expression even though on the inside I was hurt, angry, but most of all I felt betrayed.

When I saw Momo across from me I knew she could tell something was wrong. I remembered my bracelets were gone therefor I'd have to rely on my physical strength without anything else to help me.

"Let the battle between Izumi Midoriya and Yaoyorozu begin" we both stood still for a second before began to make a shield and sword. I felt empty and had no idea what to do. She rushed at me and was on the offensive side while I was on defense.

I tried to fight back but I just didn't have the will to. "Zumi fight me with your all!" she yelled I looked at her eyes wide. What was she trying to do? Why was she telling me this knowing I couldn't.

I ignored her and tried to punch her stomach but she protected her stomach with her shield before landing a kick on my side.

"Zumi it wasn't your fault! She wouldn't want this!" she kept yelling out things I knew what she was doing. "Momo stop it." I said as she continued to push eventually she tried to push me out of the ring and she almost did put I ducked and rolled out of the way

"Zumi I'm giving it my all why aren't you! Do you think I'm weak?! Or is it because you're too stuck in the past?! It wasn't your fault! You weren't still young! It's your quirk! It's apart of you!" she sent a kick my way as memories began to flood through my brain.

Flashback

"Zumi you're going to be the greatest hero ever in the future!" a four year of Zuma said to her friend. "And you'll be with me right?" Izumi ask a bright and wide smile adorning her face. "Yep I'll always be here every step of the way!" She replied

"Promise me this is forever!" Zuma said putting her pinky out to her friend. "Always and forever!" Izumi exclaimed wrapping her pinky around Zumas. "Always and forever!" She exclaimed back as they both giggled running off.

Flashback over

"Izumi" a voice said as I kept dodging Momo's attacks looking in front of me I saw Zuma in her four year old body smiling at me. I a tear slid down my face as I looked at her. "Zuma I-I'm so sorry I wasn't strong enough I couldn't say yo-" I said but was cut off by her

"That's not true remember what I said?"

Flash Back

"Zuma I'm so sorry I'm not strong enough to save us" four year old Izumi cried trying her best to hold up the ceiling beam. "I-It's not your fault Izumi you're young you don't have enough control yet" she said back breathing slowing down.

"I should have trained more maybe we'd both be okay" Izumis arms gave away as the beam fell on both girls basically crushing them. "Zumi listen to me" zuma said causing Izumi to turn to her

"No matter what happens I'll be here every step of the way always and forever remember?" Izumi nodded at her friends words "always and forever" she said back licking their pinkies.

"Izumi don't stop dreaming I know you can become the symbol of protection like you always wanted" she smiled with the little energy she had left. "Even if you can't see me I'll always be here because that's what best friends are for" a tear escaped Zumas eyes as a river seemed to flow endlessly from Izumis eyes.
